Position: Senior Manager - Process Engineering

Function: Gears & Transmission-Process Engineering

Location: Ghaziabad

Specifications:-

Experience (in years): 12-18 years

Industry Preferred: Automotive Gears & Transmission Industry

Qualifications: BE-Min 12-15 years of relevant experience in gear manufacturing industry, Diploma- Min 18 years of relevant experience

Roles & responsibilities:-

Project and Development for powertrain as per master plan- Responsible for all project & development related activity in given timeline, Leading team and co-ordinate with other departments to achieve time line.

Development and implementation of Transaxle/Transmission Assembly, Powertrain and Testing

High/Low Volume Assembly Lines (Automated/Semi-Automated) for various Projects

Capex planning as per business requirement- Responsible for Capex planning for new part or project related machine & equipment, Finalization, ordered, Installation and handover to production.

SPM Vendors for Equipment building and Prove out.

Resolved Capacity problems, improved operations & support.

Finalization of RFQ cost and technical feasibility and RFQ- New project RFQ finalization as per time line and Discussion with customer for technical points.

Product costing against RFQ majorly for "Transmission, Transaxle, PTU, Al Structural parts, EV Gearbox.

Project feasibility by estimating materials costs, process costs, tooling cost and sourcing requirements

Cost Saving and improvement- Initiate cost saving and improvement – motivate team for cost saving and lead to complete the project

Line Balancing analysis to support success in high-volume products.

Focused on increasing efficiency, lowering cycle times and improving overall quality.

Functional competencies:-

Behavioral competencies-

Have good knowledge:

  • of machining aspects of gears - Hobbing, Shaving, Shaping, Heat Treatment, OD & ID Grinding, Gear Grinding & Honing, Turning, Assembly line, Powertrain, Gear quality machines etc.
  • of budgeting process and commercial knowledge of machines & machining
  • to work out cycle time and various ways to reduce the cycle time and increasing productivity
  • of gear cutting tools, Jigs and Fixtures
  • on machine as per requirement, should be able to follow up with machine manufacturers for customization of machines as per requirement.
  • activities for machine erection & commissioning
  • for all accessories of new machines and assembly line.
  • for assembly (DFA) and Design for manufacturing (DFM) for new product development and suggest for improvement and cost proposal.
  • system adherence as per quality standards, various APQP activity like Process flow diagram, Control plan, Failure mode for components, PPAP of parts which are under development.
  • direct and manage the new project and project team, and deliver the project deliverables to an agreed time and quality/performance.
  • have good knowledge of tools & systems (IATF, EnMS, QMS, ISO etc.)
  • Aggressive & result oriented person.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Good team player & able to lead green field projects.
