  • As a Risk Assurance Regulatory Reporting Manager you will participate as a tester on multiple Financial/ Non-Financial Risk Assurance testing reviews, as directed by Assurance management. Assist with the detection of issues and observations, reports, and follows up on regulatory issues that arise. Assures compliance with internal policies and procedures and with laws and regulations applicable to HNAH's banking and brokerage activities in the U.S. Primary focus on control activities (e.g., first line of defense compliance monitoring functions) of the Banking businesses (i.e., Retail, Commercial, Private Banking), and in related support activities (e.g. Risk Management, IT, MIS, Operations). Secondary focus of the role is testing the control activities conducted in mitigation of compliance/ Normative risks.

What you'll do:

You will be responsible for:

  • Conduct planning and scoping, fieldwork/testing, review wrapup, and issue management.

To include but not limited to:
researching regulations, detection of control gaps, developing testing steps, and writing issues.

  • Monitor completion of assurance reviews against scheduled plans and related milestones (e.g. SOX)
  • Participate on assigned compliance reviews, ensuring timely and quality execution of the reviews while ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures.
  • Maintain work papers and required documentation in the system of record.
  • Providing assurance and challenge of the effectiveness of the risk and control activities conducted by the first line of defense, and determining the residual risk of identified coverage gaps.
  • Assists Business and Compliance Management in determining the effectiveness of their compliance control environment and provides line of sight for compliance management into regulatory issues.
Execution of Risk and Control Assessments (RCAs)

  • Review of RCAs including ensuring global RCA consistency from a scoping, risk assessment and controls perspective
  • Support to ensure that there is a RCA and associated control owner continuous monitoring plans maintained for all key processes and controls across Finance


Maintaining current knowledge of Consumer, Commercial, and Investment Banking business processes and compliance requirements, in addition to pertinent internal regulatory policy and procedural changes.


  • Participates in special compliance reviews, risk selfassessment projects and any additional assignments/projects as required by management.
  • Knowledge of assigned businesses, products, operations, systems and organization and understanding of all significant regulatory compliance requirements applicable to the business.

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Ensure compliance with Regulatory, Bank Policy and Principles. Maintain records, follow up and update assignations.
  • Work effectively and professionally with team mates and colleagues across Assurance and the wider organization.
  • Build on the knowledge of latest financial and reporting trends. Actively seeks out, shares and encourages the adoption of best practice within and across teams.

Management of Risk

  • The jobholder will ensure that alignment to the requirements of the role by ensuring that they attest to reading and understanding the Assurance methodology, and the reviews related Instructions, along with ensuring completion of any mandatory and or required training, within the timeframe determined by the function and or Learning & Development.
  • Where required through the role, they will undertake training in line with the expectations of the role.
  • Any concerns must be escalated through line management as soon as they become apparent.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in business, finance, or related field, with 5 years related experience proven and progressive financial services audit, Intern Control, Normativity areas and/or compliance testing or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and pertinent mainframe systems and software packages (Microsoft Outlook, Word, specially Excel, Etc.).
  • Knowledge in COSO, SOX and control tests.
  • Advanced English level is required.
  • Depending on the role, required professional certification may include: CAMS, CANNON Trust, CISA, CRCM, CCRP, CIA, CFSA, CPA, etc. Incumbent should be prepared to seek additional certifications as the team expands its assurance efforts into other nonfinancial risks.
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills with particular focus on excellent business writing (clear and concise) as well as presentation skills.
