Role DescriptionThis is a full-time remote role for a Solar Design Engineer at Green Pulse Engineering. The Solar Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solar PV systems.

This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess project feasibility, create system layouts, perform energy production analysis, and develop engineering drawings.

The Solar Design Engineer will also ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field3+ Years of Experience with solar photovoltaic (PV) design software, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, HelioScope or PVsystKnowledge of solar energy technologies, energy storage systems, and grid interconnection regulationsFamiliarity with relevant codes, standards, and best practices in the solar industryStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesAttention to detail and ability to prioritize tasksPrevious experience in solar project development or engineering is a plusProfessional certifications, trainings are a plus

ResponsibilitiesGenerate CAD files based on the Drones photos and videos using proprietary software.
Review documentation such as site visit reports and photos and determine Interconnection methods, Equipment location.

Prepare electrical design packages for PV, BESS systems including selection of majorcomponents, modules layouts, cable routing, equipment location, single-line diagrams, etc.;Perform electrical power calculations to specify AC and DC conductors, OCPD, thermal loadcalculations, voltage drop calculations, fault current calculations, grounding specifications.

Create specifications for electrical components such as DC combiner boxes, AC panel boards, power transformers, auxiliary equipment, etc.
Create, review, and maintain drawing packages, bills of materials, scopes of work and other technical project documentation;Prepare structural design package including rafter spacing, attachment points, calculations etc,Develop and maintain standards and specifications for the electrical design process and equipment;Collaborate with team members when necessary to ensure effective communication and results
