About the Role and Company:

American Express's International Card Acquisitions team uses advanced application technologies to simplify and secure the credit card application process worldwide. We are looking for a Staff Engineer to drive technical excellence within our organization. In this role, you will design scalable systems, improve code quality, and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration. As a key player, you will ensure that our development teams operate efficiently and align with our strategic business objectives.

Purpose of the Role:

As a Staff Engineer, your primary goal is to lead the development of next-generation distributed platforms. You will align resources and delivery with business growth, enhancing product quality and cost-effectiveness. We are looking for an innovative and energetic individual with strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities:

Pushing the boundaries of technology innovation. Evaluating and integrating new technologies to solve complex problems. Cultivating continuous engineering improvement through mentoring and feedback. Designing complex, scalable, and distributed systems. Leading large projects from conception to deployment. Aligning technical goals with business objectives. Communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively. Setting technical direction and leading architectural discussions. Collaborating with product managers and other stakeholders. Designing scalable systems using microservices architecture. Extensive experience with Pega Platform and Java Spring framework. Strong understanding of front-end frameworks and relational databases. Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies. Deep knowledge of DevOps principles and tools. Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or Engineering. Over 12 years of professional Software development experience. Expertise in Full-stack development and Microservices architecture. Hands-on experience with distributed applications and enterprise products. Ability to influence decision-making at all organizational levels.
