OVERVIEW :
Skillsoft is on the lookout for a seasoned and strategic Service Desk Squad Lead with a minimum of 9 years of experience in global ServiceDesk operations and at least 2 years in a managerial capacity. This role requires global exposure and calls for exceptional communication skills, adaptability, and proactive management in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate is highly self-driven, professional, and adept at handling complex workloads and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced technology-driven workplace.
OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS:
Oversee and lead a team of Service Desk Technicians, providing direction, mentoring, and support. Guarantee timely assignment and resolution of tickets in accordance with established SLAs. Monitor ticket queues and manage team workload to ensure effective resolution of issues. Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements to Service Desk processes. Act as the senior point of escalation for complex technical problems, collaborating with Tier 2 support and other IT departments to achieve resolutions. Lead the Critical Incident process through both the timely assessment and classification of critical incidents and assuming the Incident Owner role. Lead regular meetings to evaluate team performance, set objectives, and advance strategic initiatives. Analyze patterns in support tickets to spot recurring issues and engineer long-term solutions. Support the development of a knowledge base and standardize troubleshooting procedures across the team. Foster innovation within the Service Desk to elevate productivity for the global employee base. Be prepared to work in rotating shifts and on-call as needed to support international regions, including APAC, EMEA, and North America. Cultivate customer success to enhance customer experience and satisfaction. Display willingness to travel as required by the role.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
A robust background with 9 years in global ServiceDesk management. At least 3 years of experience in leading and managing a team or squad. Exceptional team-building and motivational skills, with a proven track record of developing high-performing teams. Competency in balancing multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-pressure environment. Experience in engaging with senior leadership. Familiarity with supporting teams within the EMEA and North America regions. In-depth knowledge of Windows, macOS, and the Microsoft Office Suite. A solid understanding of IT security concepts, including endpoint protection. Outstanding organizational skills with an unwavering focus on detail. Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal. Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude. Proven project management skills and experience in maintaining comprehensive documentation. A friendly and professional demeanor, with a strong emphasis on customer service. Relevant IT certifications such as ITIL Master, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent would be beneficial. Bachelor's or master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Demonstrated experience in change management and process optimization. Ability to inspire confidence and trust among team members and stakeholders.
