PURPOSE OF THE ROLE / FUNCTIONAL CONTEXT:
  • To have full control on all manufacturing process except heat treatment & ensure we produce products as per demand.
  • Interaction with Sourcing, PE, Logistics with production plan & ensure we deliver products on time.
  • Interaction with Union to ensure we have the right compliance.
  • Member of Management team for common discussions & decision making.
  • Active support to R&D in product development.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • To ensure that the plant delivers volumes as per contract while delivering KPIs on waste, defect rate.
  • Ensure short lead-times, good availability of products with minimum inventory levels, using Lean principles in production.
  • Keep the availability of products above %.
  • To exercise control over the daily consumption of operation consumables and track variances.
  • To continuously support maintenance team by ideating and supporting execution on low cost automation in the plant in order to improve productivity and product quality.
  • To ensure Industrial engineering standards are adhered to in the plant – drive Statistical Process Controls.
  • To ensure capability building of the team through internal and external resources to enhance their technical & functional skills.
  • Drive continuous improvement actions in order to increase productivity every year through investments and new procedures.
  • Safeguarding PK reduction through continuous process improvements and localizing.
  • Coordinate with, Design, Quality, Purchase and Logistic department to ensure smooth flow of material in production department.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Educational: B. Tech / Diploma (Mechanical).

Experiential: to years in Production engineering in Manufacturing Industry, such as Mining, Auto & Engineering.

  • Strong communication skills including verbal, written, presentation and active listening, and group facilitation.
  • Excellent planning & organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to successfully collaborate across different teams and stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced high-performance work system.
  • Exhibit learning agility and show willingness to multi-task and grow in the organization by taking up diverse and challenging assignments.
Health and Safety awareness for a Manufacturing environment:
  • Participate in Planned workplace inspections, Risk Assessment, near miss reporting, accident investigations.
  • Ensure closure of Planned Workplace Inspection action points by the factory team pertaining to engineering by mobilizing resources and tracking action.
Decision Making Authority:
  • Driving shop floor discipline
  • People Deployment
  • Cost strategy with regard to waste, conversion, operating consumables
  • People development, including implementation of rigorous performance appraisal (KPI's), closure of PDP process and training system for subordinates
  • Developing, implementing and managing systems/local internal control procedures
  • Adherence to company policies and procedures

Reporting to: General Manager

Direct subordinate: Shift Engineers, Production Planners & Operators.
