Job Description for Cisco Network Admin:

Need a senior network SME who can drive the below project :

Project Title: WAN Network Re-architecture and Implementation

Project Overview:

This project aims to rearchitect the Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure to improve performance, scalability, and security, while also ensuring alignment with evolving business needs. The project will involve assessing current network architecture, designing a new WAN topology, implementing necessary changes, and validating the functionality of the redesigned network.

Project Objectives:

1. Assess the current WAN network architecture and identify areas for improvement.

2. Design a new WAN topology that meets current and future business requirements.

3. Implement required changes to rearchitect the WAN network.

4. Validate the functionality and performance of the redesigned network.

Project Tasks:

1. Current Network Assessment:

· Conduct a thorough assessment of the existing WAN network infrastructure, including hardware, software, and configurations.

· Identify performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and scalability limitations.

· Document current network topology, traffic patterns, and dependencies.

1. Business Requirements Gathering:

· Collaborate with key ORI and Great West IT to understand current and future business needs, including bandwidth requirements, application performance expectations, and security considerations.

· Identify specific objectives and goals for the rearchitected WAN network.

1. WAN Re-architecture Design:

· Develop a new WAN topology and architecture based on the gathered requirements and assessment findings.

· Design a scalable and resilient network architecture that supports current and future business needs, including redundancy, load balancing, and failover mechanisms.

· Define network segmentation and security policies to protect critical assets and data.

1. Implementation Planning:

· Develop a detailed implementation plan outlining the sequence of tasks, dependencies, and timelines.

· Allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget, for the implementation phase.

· Coordinate with vendors and service providers as needed for hardware procurement, configuration, and support.

1. WAN Re-architecture Implementation:

· Execute planned changes to rearchitect the WAN network according to the design specifications.

· Install and configure new networking hardware, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.

· Update network configurations, routing protocols, and security policies to align with the new architecture.

· Conduct thorough testing and validation of the redesigned network to ensure functionality and performance.

1. Transition and Migration:

· Coordinate migration activities, including data migration, IP address reassignment, and DNS updates.

· Minimize downtime and service interruptions during the transition by implementing phased migration strategies.

· Communicate with end-users and stakeholders to provide updates and support throughout the transition process.

1. Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:

· Document the new WAN network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.

· Provide training and knowledge transfer sessions for IT staff members on managing and maintaining the rearchitected network.

· Establish a process for ongoing documentation maintenance and updates.

Project Deliverables:

1. Assessment report detailing current WAN network infrastructure and findings.

2. Design documentation for the new WAN topology and architecture.

3. Implemented changes to rearchitect the WAN network.

4. Validation report confirming the functionality and performance of the redesigned network.

5. Updated network documentation and operational procedures.

6. Training materials and knowledge transfer sessions for IT staff members.

Must have skills: Palo Alto, Network, Firewall, Load Balancer, Routing and Switching.

Experience: 12+ years

Notice period: Immediate- 30days(More than 30days NP not acceptable)
