About the Opening

  • We are looking for candidates to fill vacancies as Area Sales Manager in Pune/Mumbai to help ensure sustainable and impactful growth of the Food Safety Business of Neogen India. The position will be remote (home based) and will require significant field travel.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Calls on customers and prospects in the field and by telephone, e-mail and fax to identify customer needs and specifications, informs them of new and existing products/services, and explains characteristics and benefits.
  • Develops lists of prospects from trade and professional association membership lists, directories, other public records and from referrals.
  • Communicates with existing customer base on a consistent basis to: (1) monitor customer satisfaction; (2) resolve customer problems and concerns; and (3) monitor competitive position.
  • Achieves or exceeds personal sales budgets.
  • Secures, records, and places orders with others for fulfillment; arranges and confirms delivery dates.
  • Develops and recommends pricing strategies in consultation with Head – Business Development which will result in the greatest profitability and market share.
  • Represents company and analyzes industry trade shows and meetings to: (1) promote products and services; (2) increase market and competitive knowledge; and (3) identify new product for distribution, OEM or development.
  • Develops long and short-term profit driven business plans, which leverage Neogen's strengths and marketplace opportunities.
  • Develops long-lasting business relationships with key customers and industry influencers to support Neogen's market position.
  • Conducts market analysis and surveys on current and new product concepts.
  • Executes sales and marketing programs that have been approved by management.
  • Participates in the resolution of customer billing or collection problems in consultation with Head – Business Development.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

Essential:
Post Graduate degree from a Recognized University in sciences background or a Professional graduate degree in areas related to food science and technology combined with at least 5-7 years of relevant experience in the areas of food quality testing or any related fields

  • Relevant working experience in private food industry is additional advantage

Soft Skills advantage:

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. The ability to translate complex scientific information into clear, concise and practical messages.
  • Can-do, enthusiastic, collaborative, and customer-centric attitude with a strong desire to improve own skills and find improved ways of working aligned to business objectives.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (skilled Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
Language skills – Fluent in English and at least one local languageBenefits :
