Senior Associate, India Payroll

The Payroll & Benefits Manager, Europe & Asia Pacific job contributes to the design and ensures compliance with payroll processes across multiple country jurisdictions including calculating gross and net pay amounts, payroll specific records maintenance, reconciliation of payroll records, and payroll data administration. Under limited supervision, this job reviews payroll legislation to ensure compliance and reporting integrity.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Checks the calculation of gross and net pay amounts and changes to computerized payroll system to ensure accuracy (e.g., salary, overtime, shift payments, sales commissions, bonuses, deferred compensation, benefits, tax withholdings, deductions, payroll liabilities, etc.) across multiple countries' jurisdiction.
- Reviews payroll data, production records, and individual attendance records within the HRIS and payroll system, and corrects errors to ensure the accuracy of payroll payments within operating country.
- Maintains the reconciliation of payroll records (e.g., payments, deductions, general ledger entries for wages) and processes the organization's payroll accurately.
- Coordinates and processes any irregular payments (e.g., sales draws, bonus payments, etc.) while ensuring compliance.
- Reviews the balance of payroll runs and compliance with related requirements, including minimum wage, local tax rates, and related federal and state regulations within the countries' jurisdiction.
- Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to other payroll and benefits team members.

- 12+ Years of hands-on payroll experience with 8+ years in India payroll hands-on experience is a must.
- At least 5 years of payroll experience with a proven facility in data entry, customer service and problem resolution.
- Thorough understanding of payroll systems and processes, including knowledge of payroll tax laws, direct deposits, benefits, and deductions.
- Sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange complex information.
- Proficiency in various computer software, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Integrity and professionalism to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Sound with excel and Power point skills.
- Profound knowledge in legal compliances affecting India payroll domain.
