Business Intelligence Specialist (Tableau)

The position

Randstad UK is experiencing transformational change through the application of Data, Analytics & Automation across all business units.

The collaboration between our business teams and our BI/MI team in IT is a key example of how we are driving best practice.

New analytics technologies require new skills, higher levels of collaboration through "new ways of working" and greater agility for us to be successful & impactful.

This role is an exciting opportunity to act as an BI specialist for our business services function to realise the ambitions we have to drive transformation.

You will be a key member of our BI/MI team (part of the IT department within Randstad UK) but you will be explicitly assigned to support our business with Tableau and their MI.

You will therefore benefit from direct relationships with senior stakeholders in business Services and IT.

priorities for the role:
As a Business Intelligence Specialist you will have four core priorities:

Visualise data (pulled from our data warehouse) relating to our business reporting requirements through the creation and maintenance of Tableau dashboards.

This will likely represent the most significant part of your role.
Gather, scope and refine requirements for business reporting. This will require extensive engagement with stakeholders across our business and operations teams.
Ensure that business reporting requirements are understood and correctly scoped by our data engineering team. This will ensure that all data points are available within our data warehouse for visualisation in Tableau.
Ensure that end users are able to fully utilise the data products that have been created for them. This will include user acceptance testing, user adoption planning, coaching, data storytelling and query handling.

Key Responsibilities
The BI Specialist will be responsible for creating, maintaining and improving the visual reporting landscape for business.

The BI Specialist will gather and document the requirements from the business teams, and articulate them to the data engineering team.

The BI Specialist is accountable for providing open & effective communication channels between the business teams and BIMI Squad.
Working alongside the team to estimate change requests so timelines for delivery can be managed effectively
Help to maintain the BIMI Product Backlogs in-line with business requirements, technical roadmap as well as associated priorities.

The BI Specialist will support RUK's business & IT strategy by defining vision & developing multi year product roadmaps prioritised to maximise business value, compliance & reliability.

Candidate Profile
Personal Characteristics/Behavioural competencies
A background in data analysis, requirement gathering and documentation
Strong experience in utilising Tableau to convey complex data in a clear and meaningful way
Experience in provisioning users, managing groups, content and row level security (RLS) in Tableau
Experience of successfully contributing and collaborating with a team on large projects in a complex but agile environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to communicate effectively at all levels within an organisation
Comfortable at facilitating workshops to gather requirements, showcase new reports, and train users
Effectively document processes
Work with a lot of autonomy
Prioritise multiple tasks effectively
Ability to work in a team
Proactive, problem solver
Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to form well thought out conclusions and recommendations.
