Roles and Responsibilities

Vessel supervisor shall be responsible for all the activities on the vessel side as below

  • 1 Conducting Vessel Safety Inspection prior to commencing operation.
2 Sequence of the QC Operations to be understand in consultation with vessel planner.

3 Prepare crane allocation QC operators in consultation with SDM.

4 Ensure from the engineering, that all the cranes released for operations.


5 Check all the cranes were released from the anchoring position and move to Point of Work (POW) and restore in anchoring position after completion of work.


6 Closely monitor the berthing & un-berthing of vessel & report any issue (Berthing position, Gangway position, any impact to berth etc.) SDM.


Yard supervisor shall be responsible for all the activities on the Yard side as below

  • 1 Conduct Preshift briefing of RTG operators and inform status of yard activity for the shift.
2 Keep ready of yard shuttle bus for relieving of RTG Operators.

3 Ensure the HOT SEAT relieving of RTG Operator, ECH Operator is done properly.

4 Take Vessel activity yard sheet from Yard Dispatcher before entering in yard.

5 Ensure that all the RTG operator board as per the RTG allocation.

6 Ensure that all ITV / external drivers are follow traffic rules inside the yard.

7 Ensure that pre ops check done by operator and equipment checklist submitted in every shift.

PSAs Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals (PSA Mumbai) is located in Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPA) in Maharashtra, India's largest and premier container gateway.

It serves the important industrial and manufacturing centres and cities in Northwest India, as well as India's largest hinterland with a population in excess of 400 million.


The development of PSA Mumbai, JNPA's fourth container terminal, will cater to the ever-increasing demand for container handling capacity, boost export / import trade and increase economic activities between India and other countries.


PSA Mumbai completed its Phase 1 development and commenced operations in Jan 2018 with the deepest berths in JNPA to handle large super Post-Panamax vessels, catering to the ever-increasing demand for container handling capacity in the Western India region.

It is equipped with the latest technology and equipment to offer customers fast turnaround of their vessels.

Besides being well-connected by major highways and rail networks to key markets in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and the National Capital Region of India, PSA Mumbai is also equipped with double stack train infrastructure to support India's Dedicated Freight Corridor that will allow trains to carry more and heavier loads at higher freight speed.

When PSA Mumbai's Phase 2 is fully completed, it will have a berth length of 2,000 metres and capacity of 4.
