Role Purpose
The purpose of the role is to lead successful product creation by managing its end to end lifecycle from ideation to implementation and to successful launch in market Do Develop new products/product lines which suit market needs Define product development roadmap from its conception to market release Do market research and understand market- driven business needs and objectives to define product requirements and strategy Produce a high-level design document to demonstrate product feasibility and functionality Collect architectural design and technical requirements and prepare engineering delivery plan Prioritize product features as per the business value and ROI to be delivered to the client Develop theme-based Proof of Concepts (POCs) in order to demonstrate the feasibility of the product idea and realise it as a viable one Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI Analyse, propose and implement the core technology strategy for product development Develop, implement, and maintain production timelines across multiple modules Provide technical leadership to the design, development and implementation of custom solutions through thoughtful use of modern technology Validate the solution/ prototype from technology, cost structure and customer differentiation point of view Tracks industry and application trends and relates these to planning current and future IT needs Provide product support to the clients whenever an issue is raised Ensure process compliances, security, open source clearances, legal clearances etc completed while developing the product Ensure Stakeholder Management Collaborate with sales, development, consulting teams to prioritize work and drive the product and business-planning process Provides technical and strategic input during the product deployment at the client site Ensure optimal client engagement and support pre-sales team while presenting the entire product design and its principles to the client Team Management Resourcing Forecast talent requirements as per the current and future business needs Hire adequate and right resources for the team Talent Management Ensure adequate on boarding and training for the team members to enhance capability &effectiveness Build an internal talent pool and ensure their career progression within the organization Manage team attrition Drive diversity in leadership positions Performance Management Set goals for the team, conduct timely performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to own direct reports Ensure that the Performance Nxt is followed for the entire team Employee Satisfaction and Engagement Lead and drive engagement initiatives for the team Track team satisfaction scores and identify initiatives to build engagement within the team Stakeholder Interaction Stakeholder Type Stakeholder Identification Purpose of Interaction Internal Product Leadership Team For product development, reporting and governance Vertical Sales For work coordination and support in providing solutions to enhance product sale Vertical Delivery Teams To implement the products at the client site Holmes Roll out team For automation roll out purpose HRBP For hiring and managing resources External Vendors/ Partners Solutioning on cloud and new technical components Customer To implement the products at client site Display Lists the competencies required to perform this role effectively: Functional Competencies/ Skill Domain/Industry Knowledge – Awareness and knowledge of broad economic, demographic, technological and global trends within own ecosystem – Expert Market Intelligence – Deep specialized understanding of the ecosystem practice, overall market & competition and nuances of delivery in that domain – Master Systems Thinking – Understanding of the Wipro system (interrelatedness, interdependencies and boundaries) and perform problem solving in a complex environment
