The Quality Services team in the Device OS org provides test execution, triaging, automation support services across Amazon devices built using Device OS technology and solutions.

Key job responsibilities

As a Program Manager, you will work with multiple QA and Engg teams to support multiple programs for various Amazon devices.

You will be setting and managing expectations, building stakeholder confidence through effective communication, reliable delivery, robust processes, and sound reporting metrics.

You are also responsible for driving operational efficiency programs, quality improvements (by adopting appropriate audit and measurement mechanisms), and business impact across programs through policy changes and improvements in data quality and service delivery.

The individual will also be a point of escalation for multiple teams.
A successful candidate will have a developed skill set in the following areas:

  • Understanding customer (internal and external) needs and priorities to carry out operational planning and to set and manage expectations with a diverse set of business stakeholders.
  • Design and implement PMO framework to ensure seamless tracking of all the programs and timely reporting of status to leadership.
  • Own complete tracking and reporting of program goals, updates on initiatives, periodical business updates (Monthly/Quarterly)
  • The role involves influencing peers and stakeholders to achieve goals assigned. A successful candidate in this role will have the ability to work at all levels of detail to accomplish team/organization goals. The ideal candidate actively seeks to understand Amazon's core business values and initiatives, and translates those into everyday practices.
A day in the life

This role encompasses the following responsibilities::

  • Define and execute tactical and strategic plans towards achieving the program vision and goals through efficient program management, stakeholder management
  • Work with program, operations, and QA engineering teams to understand program requirements and jointly develop a solution which solves a larger business problem
  • Serve as leaders and point of contact for escalated contact resolution for problems
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with internal stakeholders locally and globally.
  • Building a data-oriented culture, adoption of technology solutions and process improvement projects to achieve business goals.
About the team
Amazon Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics. Lab126 has produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Echo and Amazon Echo Show.
The Amazon Devices group delivers delightfully unique Amazon experiences, giving customers instant access to everything, digital or physical.
The Device OS team plays a central role in creating these innovative devices at Lab126.

The Device OS team is responsible for the board bring up, low level software, core operating system architecture, innovative framework feature development, associated cloud services and end-to-end system functions that brings these devices to life.

The software built by the Device OS team runs on all Amazon consumer electronics devices.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
  • 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and nontech teams experience
  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
