Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Operations Lead (Payroll Manager) , within Human Resources. This role is part of the Payroll and Time & AbsenceTeam in the HR Solutions organization based in Mumbai, India .
About You and this Role:
As a Payroll Manager , you enables a best-in-class employee experience through exceptional subject matter expertise, consultation, and service delivery for Payroll. This includes the management, implementation, and delivery of innovative solutions, leading projects or project steps within a broader project, accountability for on-going activities within the discipline.
The main objective of this role is to enable timely & accurate payments to employees in allthe countries supported. You will influence and coach team members, provide guidance in addressing process and technology roadblocks to service delivery. Your ability to work across time zones will be crucial as you will act as the first level of escalation for both internal and externalstakeholders.In this role, you will require understanding of key business drivers for your discipline and function. You will need to be able to expand conceptual and working knowledge related to payroll.
You are accountable to analyze and resolve complex problems, examine information from multiple sources, and use judgement to evaluate established and new solutions. Your performance impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your own team and other related teams and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies.
Responsibilities:
Enable delivering Payroll, Time & Absence, and Data Management in a productive and efficient manner, maintainingconfidentiality and with a high level of accuracy. Leading and partnering in strategic improvement projects, change projectsand having accountability for on-going activities within the discipline. Perform activities according to the Dow internal control & compliance framework and lead coordination for internal and external audits. Engages with third party providers to establish, develop, and review the suite of services in payroll, time & absence. Serve as an escalation point to address employee, people leader queries/cases on payroll related matters. Delegate and escalate queries as appropriate but remain responsible through completion. Provide information and insights to Discipline Leaders to continuously improve Knowledge Base, Operational Excellence and Payroll delivery.Qualifications:
Masters or Bachelor'sdegree in HR, Finance, or related area. Minimum of 8 years of payroll experience. Exposure to international payroll practices (APAC, Latin America, Europe) is needed. Fluency in English (written & oral)is mandatory.Preferred Skills:
Experience with Workday, ServiceNow & SAP. Proficiency in any other European or Asian languages is an asset. Understand organizational interdependencies and experience working across functions and cultures. International experience and leading cross-regional collaboration in prior roles is a significant plus. Experience in high volume operational environments is required. Experience in internal controls through prior audit participation is preferred. Experience with Workday is an advantage. Good problem solving, critical thinking skills and managing competing priorities. By nature, this job requires a substantial amount of coordination with a variety of internal- and external stakeholders where accountability and ownership of data and processes are key.
