Job Overview

We have an exciting opening for technology research professionals to play a vital role in advising our members. This is a significant research position that requires the candidate to enhance our knowledge by forming teams that generate impactful research on emerging technologies, which will be utilized to drive client success through our top-notch delivery platforms, encompassing both standard research and client-specific projects.

Our analyst teams are responsible for supporting our members by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting technical information to keep them informed about crucial developments for future technology directions and innovations. Our analysts must excel in creating strategic and practical recommendations and producing detailed research on emerging technologies and their applications. The ultimate measure of success will be feedback provided by the members on the contributed work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough primary and secondary research to identify emerging technology trends, value chain dynamics, and potential opportunities or risks
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the focused emerging technology domain and monitor aspects like competition, innovation, and market applications
  • Design and implement qualitative and quantitative research, including complex surveys and interviews, to gather valuable technical data
  • Analyze data using statistical software and other analytical tools to identify patterns, trends, and segments that could be impacted by the identified technologies
  • Create clear and concise research outputs, including visuals, to stimulate discussions and action among our members. Also, provide support to senior research leadership
  • Forecast technology impact timeframes and categories of influence, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine strategies based on research findings and recommendations
  • Stay informed about industry developments, best practices, and new research methodologies to enhance our research efforts continually
  • Assist project management teams with client-specific requests on customized projects utilizing core research skills

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

The ideal candidate will be eager to gain expertise across various fields and preferably hold an advanced degree in a technology or science-related area. While consulting experience is not mandatory, familiarity with frameworks and tools used for solving client issues in this field is advantageous.

Additional requirements include:

  • Degree in a technology or science-related field; advanced degree is a plus
  • 3-4 years of experience in practical research or a similar role
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw valuable conclusions
  • Proven experience in offering strategic and tactical recommendations based on detailed technology/business/market research
  • Proficiency in statistical software like SPSS and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate research findings and recommendations to diverse audiences
  • Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple research projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of various market research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to delivering high-quality work
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting
