Responsibilities:

Requirements gathering:
Collaborating with Technology Product Owner & IT teams, to understand their needs and translate them into system requirements.

System design:
Creating technical specifications, system diagrams, and flowcharts to define the structure, components, and functionality of the proposed system.

System development:

Working closely with developers and programmers to build and implement the system, ensuring that it meets the defined requirements.


Testing and quality assurance:

Conducting thorough testing of the system to identify and resolve any bugs or issues, ensuring that it performs as expected and meets quality standards.


Documentation:

Creating detailed documentation, including user manuals, technical guides, and system documentation, to facilitate system understanding, maintenance, and future enhancements.


Training and support:
Providing training and support to end-users, helping them understand and effectively use the system.

System maintenance and enhancement:
Monitoring and maintaining the system, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing enhancements or modifications as needed.

Collaboration and communication:

Working collaboratively with Technology Product Owner & IT teams to ensure effective communication and alignment throughout the system development lifecycle.


Skills:

Analytical skills:
System analysts need to be able to analyze complex information, identify problems, and propose solutions. They should have strong problem-solving abilities and be able to think critically.

Technical expertise:
System analysts should have a solid understanding of various technologies, software development methodologies, and programming languages. This knowledge helps them communicate effectively with developers and make informed decisions about system design and implementation.

Business acumen:
A system analyst must understand the business processes, goals, and objectives of the organization they are working for.

They need to be able to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical solutions, ensuring that the systems they develop align with business needs.


Communication and interpersonal skills:
System analysts frequently interact with various stakeholders, including business users, managers, developers, and IT teams. Effective communication skills are crucial for gathering requirements, explaining technical concepts, and collaborating with different teams.

Project management skills:
System analysts often work on projects with defined timelines and budgets.

They need to be able to manage their time effectively, prioritize tasks, and coordinate with different teams to ensure project success.


Documentation skills:
System analysts are responsible for creating comprehensive documentation, including system requirements, technical specifications, and user manuals. Clear and accurate documentation is essential for system understanding, maintenance, and future enhancements.
