About the role...

Specializing in Hadoop (hive, hdfs, Ambari & Nifi). Crafting the architecture and seamless integration with the o9 Product. Responsibilities include Hadoop administration, monitoring tasks, ticket management (zendesk), and implementation of Jenkins and Ansible to streamline DevOps operations.

What you'll be doing...

  • Collaborating with customers/technical consultants to devise big data solution architectures based on specific needs
  • Evaluating complex distributed deployments to enhance performance
  • Documenting and presenting intricate architectures to technical teams
  • Engaging with o9's Dev, Devops, and project teams to ensure project success
  • Contributing to the design and execution of Hadoop configurations for customers in Cloud environments
  • Preparing technical documentation and manuals for customers
  • Keeping abreast of the latest Hadoop Big Data ecosystem technologies

What we're looking for...

  • Experience: Over 2 years of DevOps expertise, with a focus on architecting large-scale storage and globally distributed solutions
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing extensive Hadoop solutions
  • Proficiency in crafting data queries in a Hadoop environment utilizing tools like Apache Hive, Apache Druid, Apache Phoenix, among others
  • Hands-on experience in setting up, managing, and optimizing multi-node Hadoop clusters
  • Solid background in deploying software/solutions in Cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Expertise in designing data queries within the HDFS environment using tools such as Apache Hive
  • Knowledge of implementing MapReduce jobs
  • Proficiency in crafting data center solutions - selecting server and storage hardware based on performance and availability requirements
  • Hands-on experience in implementing big data use-cases, familiarity with standard design patterns in Hadoop deployments
  • Prior experience working with network-based APIs, particularly REST/JSON or XML/SOAP
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of enterprise security solutions like LDAP and/or Kerberos
  • Comprehensive understanding of network configuration, devices, and protocols
  • Proficient in Java development, debugging, and profiling
  • Background in Database administration, design, and Data Modelling
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience with R and various algorithms
  • Characteristics: Ability to translate customer needs into technical requirements
