Your new role –challenging and future-oriented

Position Overview:

The design engineer will be responsiblefor the mechanical design, development, and analysis of large powertransformers and shunt reactors of global sites within the Siemens powertransformer network. This will require the use of proper engineering principlesand the application of transformer design rules.

Technical Skills


•Performmechanical design, development, and analysis of the internal connections (leadsdesign) of transformers and shunt reactors up to 400kV and its sub-assembliesand components.


•Indepthknowledge and experience of preparation of internal layout, electricalclearances, magnetic distances, routing of leads inside tank, design ofsupports, coordinating lead exits with winding assembly.


•Ableto apply electrostatic/dielectric design concepts for high voltage leads andelectromagnetic concepts for high current leads.


•Knowledgeof components used in internal connections like cables, busbars, HV lead exits,terminals, insulation supports, insulation papers, bushings, tap changers etc.


•Basicknowledge of special processes like crimping and brazing.

Key Skills:


•Excellent written andverbal communication in English is necessary.


•Self-motivated toproduce high quality results within the time allocated, with limited supervision.


•Experience with SAP


•Proficiency with MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Adobe Acrobat


•Guide & nurtureyoung talents.


•Strong understanding ofworking in Global engineering center or equivalent

•Graduateor Diploma Holders in Mechanical engineering.


•8-10Years' Experience in design of transformer Tank & externals.
