As an Engineering Manager at ShareFile you will help build out our Horizontal Solutions, responsible for building out the platforms, SDLC, identity and security that powers Sharefile This is a highly critical space that is pivotal for the business to safely accelerate our engineering and product innovation and delivery to our customers.
Role Overview: Now, let's get to the details. This role will have ownership over our Horizontal Services team in India, working closely with your counterparts in Raleigh to deliver platforms, CI/CD solutions, security capabilities and supporting our engineering teams in the Bangalore office. This includes:
Strategy
Drive the Horizontal Solutions Vision: Partner with key stakeholders to define and execute the vision for our platform. Security Operations Center (SOC) & Security Engineering: Lead and manage the SOC team responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats and incidents. Develop and implement strategies to enhance the organization's threat detection and incident response capabilities. Foster a collaborative and proactive environment within the SOC team, ensuring effective communication and knowledge sharing. CI/CD Solutions Management: Oversee the implementation and management of CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and deployment processes. Collaborate with development, operations, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration of security controls into the CI/CD pipeline. Drive the adoption of DevSecOps practices, promoting the integration of security throughout the software development lifecycle. Monitor and optimize CI/CD processes to enhance efficiency, speed, and quality of software releases. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant industry regulations, standards, and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, NIST, ISO Ensure the organization's compliance with applicable regulations and standards, including the development and implementation of necessary policies, procedures, and controls. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory requirements and maintain necessary documentation. Facilitate audits and assessments to validate compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.Measure what Matters:
Define the KPIs and metrics that matter to help communicate project and team status and identify areas of excellence and improvement. Technologist: Be aware of the newest trends and technologies and drive innovation on the team Build: Buildhigh performing engineering teams by growing talent in the organization and hiring and retaining talent.Execution:
Incremental Delivery: Continuously deliver value to our internal customers through frequent releases of meaningful improvements to our systems. Product Ownership: Act not just as a people manager but as a product owner; driving measurable outcomes that improve our customer experience and impact the bottom line. Stakeholder Engagement: Establish a regular engagement cadence with critical cross-functional stakeholders such as other engineering teams, IT, sales, marketing, and business operations.Your Superhero Uniform Includes:
4+ years of experience leading software engineering teams of 6-10 engineers. The ability to clearly communicate complex technical challenges and solutions to diverse audiences. Deep technical experience in software engineering and systems design. Meaningful experience leading cloud engineering, security or SDLC engineering teams. Proven experience managing Security Operations Centers (SOCs) and Cloud Security Engineering teams. Deep understanding of cloud security principles, particularly in an AWS environment, with experience in infrastructure and policy as code methodologies.
