POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer (any gender) to join our "Voyager" Team and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the hotel reservation customer-facing web application along with various associated services.

CHALLENGES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage with a diverse range of systems, processes, and technologies to tackle and resolve issues comprehensively, ensuring the seamless operation of existing applications to deliver superior service to customers.
  • Design, develop, and manage APIs, services, and systems across HRS' engineering divisions.
  • Create new features utilized by numerous companies and thousands of users from the Fortune 500 list.
  • Collaborate with engineers throughout the organization to introduce new features on a large scale.
  • Uphold our stringent engineering standards and establish uniformity across the various codebases and processes you encounter.

REQUIREMENTS

Technology stack:

  • Java 6 - 50% codebase of legacy applications
  • Java 8 and higher - for all new applications
  • Enterprise JavaBeans, REST
  • Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Security
  • Development tools: Maven, Jenkins, Docker
  • Cloud technologies: Docker, AWS ECS, AWS RDS, AWS SQS
  • Monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, ELK stack
  • Testing environment: TDD (Junit 4,5, Spock), BDD (JBehave, Allure)
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative setting with diverse stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Openness to participate in upgrading Java versions in legacy systems
  • Willingness to engage in selecting technology stacks, tools, and libraries
  • Capability to integrate various services and processes, even if unfamiliar with them
  • Being user-centric and dedicated to crafting exceptional experiences
  • Proficiency in system architecture, services, and writing high-quality code
  • Skills in upholding best practices in engineering, security, and design
