Metro Global Solution Center (MGSC) is internal solution partner for METRO, a € Billion international wholesaler with operations in 31 countries through 661 stores & a team of 93,000 people globally.

Metro operates in a further 10 countries with its Food Service Distribution (FSD) business and it is thus active in a total of 34 countries.

MGSC, location wise is present in Pune (India), Düsseldorf (Germany) and Szczecin (Poland).

We provide IT & Business operations support to 31 countries, speak 24+ languages and process over 18,000 transactions a day.

We are setting tomorrow's standards for customer focus, digital solutions, and sustainable business models. For over 10 years, we have been providing services and solutions from our two locations in Pune and Szczecin.

Job Description


We are looking for...An enthusiastic individual who is passionate, dedicated, always inclined to prove him/herself and drive things by taking full accountability of what he/she responsible for.

A team player who is also capable of handling things on their own.
A person who is willing to explore and gain cross domain expertise rather than evolving in single domain.

Technical Skills:
Expertise in Data Science and Machine Learning
:

Proficient in leading data science projects, with a deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, data engineering practices, and data visualization.

Proficiency in Google Cloud Services
:

Strong experience in setting up and using Google Cloud tools such as BigQuery, VertexAI, Looker Studio, etc., for data science product development.

Technical Mentoring
:

Ability to provide technical mentorship to data scientists, machine learning engineers, and data engineers, through 1-1 coaching sessions as well as team sessions to enhance their technical skills.


Other Tools:
Hands on experience in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office applicationsNon-technical Skills

Leadership and Team Management:
Skilled in managing team performance, optimizing team utilization, and planning team capacity across various engagements. Ability to lead by example and foster a collaborative team environment.

Communication Skills:
Exceptional ability to communicate clearly and concisely with both the leadership and team members. This includes articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and conveying project expectations and feedback effectively.

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:


Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a proven record of making informed decisions based on data and team inputs.


Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel for work within India (to Pune/Bengaluru) and to Europe as required.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience as Data ScientistProject Pipeline Management:

Experienced in handling the entire pipeline of data science projects, including pre-sales activities, pitch deck preparation, and content development

Customer Engagement:
Proficient in maintaining strong customer relationships through regular interactions and touchpoints, ensuring high satisfaction and alignment with project goals

Domain Knowledge:
Exposure to wholesale/retail domains, with the ability to identify and develop valuable business use cases

Project Planning and Time Management:
Capable of proposing and adhering to project timelines after consulting with the development and project management team.
