Job Summary

  • This role leads high complexity assessments of trade compliance per preestablished controls in the business and function. It is responsible for supporting development of trade compliance policies and collaborating with crossfunctional teams to ensure implementation of compliance frameworks across business units. Additionally, support on the continous improvement of the assessments program, tools and strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Frequently contributes to the development of assessment objectives, plans and scope by engaging with Compliance Officers and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Contributes on a high level on the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal assessment procedures and risk assessment process.
  • Leads assessments and ensures compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation with very low direction.
  • Verifies assets and liabilities by comparing items to documentation.
  • Completes assessment paperwork by documenting assessment tests and findings with very low direction.
  • Appraises adequacy of internal control systems by completing assessment questionnaires.
  • Maintains internal control systems by updating assessment programs and questionnaires, recommending new policies and procedures.
  • Communicates assessment findings by preparing a final report; discussing findings with auditees.
  • Follow up on assessment findings and recommendations.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes on a high level to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • May provide mentoring and guidance to lowerlevel employees.
  • Works with crossfunctional teams to ensure implementation of trade compliance frameworks across business units and global functions.
  • Leads investigations into trade compliance incidents, deviations, and violations ensuring thorough analysis, corrective actions, and process enhancements, and escalates to internal trade counsel as needed.
  • Provides expert guidance to business units and global functions on trade compliance requirements and develops solutions to complex challenges.
  • Develops trainings and workshops for employees across departments, ensuring a strong understanding of trade compliance requirements, and participates in external forums representing organization as an expert.
  • Contributes innovative ideas and may lead large crossfunctional teams, exercising independent judgment to solve unique and complex problems impacting the business.

Education & Experience Recommended**- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Law, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • Typically has 10+ years of work experience, preferably in trade compliance, customs / global trade, internal audit or a related field.
