About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled consultant to join our team and support the design and development of our e-learning fellowships as part of the Monsoon Academy program. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing and implementing interactive and engaging e-learning modules through authoring tools and LMS, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results. Passion for building the capacity of the Indian workforce to better respond to climate change through their work will be instrumental in their work. The candidate will be part of the process of designing upcoming fellowship courses with the content development team and the leadership team at Transitions. The candidate will be working on understanding the desired user experience throughout the learning journey, identifying the appropriate interactive design elements in the modules, and implementing the interactive and gamified mechanisms throughout the content material and community engagement aspects of the fellowship.

Key Responsibilities:

Course Development:

  • Participate in designing and developing comprehensive course experiences, including lesson plans, multimedia content, assessments, and interactive activities.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and relevance of climate science content.
  • Utilise gamification strategies such as point systems, leaderboards, badges, and challenges to create a compelling learning experience.

Gamification Implementation:

  • identify and Integrate game design elements and principles into content to motivate and engage learners.
  • Develop storylines, characters, and scenarios that align with learning objectives and enhance the learning experience.
  • Use data analytics to assess the effectiveness of gamification techniques and make data-driven improvements.

Project Management:

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including developers, graphic designers, and instructional designers, to deliver cohesive educational experiences.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of course designs, revisions, and gamification strategies.

Expected Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelors in any field, (design, education, or climate background will be desirable)
  • 3-5 years of experience in designing and developing interactive e-learning experiences.
  • Experience with e-learning authoring tools & Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Experience with storyboarding, scenario-based learning, gamification, and other interactive approaches in learning design and delivery, and participant engagement
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Background in UI/UX research and design thinking is desirable.
  • Passion for sustainability and climate education.

This is a freelance position, with the expectation of flexible time commitment, while ensuring the deliverables are met in a timely fashion and are delivered with quality.

The consultancy period will be three months, with the potential for expansion based on performance and emerging needs. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
