About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Science Consultant to join our Data Insights and Analytics (DIA) team.

This role will be responsible to manage Regulatory Reporting data across the various portfolios in Home Lending and stay in compliance with Enterprise policies and federal regulations related to both data and application management.


In this role, you will:
Lead complex initiatives by utilizing data-driven, advanced analytical, statistical techniques, algorithms, or models to make actionable insights, trends, recommendations, including those that are cross-functional with broad impact acting as key participant in large-scale planningReview and analyze complex, multi-faceted, larger-scale, or longer-term business, operational, or technical challenges that require in-depth hypothesis generation and advanced analysis of multiple parts, including intangibles or unprecedented factorsMake decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring an expertise in analytical thinking to resolve abstract business issues that influence and lead broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiativesStrategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior managers to drive recommendations and strategies based on data driven, analytical insights, trends, and patterns that will resolve issues and achieve goals; may lead projects, teams or serve as a peer mentorExecute complex analytical experiments and create innovative statistical models to discover solutions for abstract business problems across various domainsInterpret and analyze data, using advanced analytics modeling methods and programming, to recommend ways to solve problems and influence business decisions and strategiesProvide consultation to peers on data science best practices, methods, and tools to leverageCommunicate actionable insights and recommendations using data in a digestible format to a non-technical audience of varying levelsData exploration for Regulatory monthly submissions to analyze anomalies and ensure data is consistent and as per business specifications in the Home Lending origination and Servicing spaceEnsure adherence to compliance and regulations and policies on all projects managedRequired Qualifications:

5+ years of data science experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science.

Experience in data science, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following:
work experience, training, military experience, education.
Understanding of the US Home Lending product lifecycle, both Origination and Servicing.
Proficient with SQL.Exposure to SAS and sourcing data from multiple sources.
Experience in Regulatory Reporting and knowledge of submission cycles and compliance standards to be maintained.
Detail oriented documentation skills.

Desired Qualifications:
Good to have certifications in Data Management, Data Engineering tools.

Strong command using SAS for data gathering and analysesStrong understanding of business drivers and industry trends of lending products & home lending in specific.

Proven ability to be successfully deliver robust solutions in a fast-paced environmentProven ability to ensure analytic rigor for all work products
