Lead Data Science Consultant for Regulatory Reporting

About this role:

Wells Fargo is looking for a Lead Data Science Consultant to join the Data Insights and Analytics (DIA) team. This role involves managing Regulatory Reporting data in Home Lending across various portfolios, ensuring compliance with Enterprise policies and federal regulations regarding data and application management.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives by utilizing data-driven advanced analytical techniques to provide actionable insights, trends, and recommendations with a broad impact, contributing significantly to large-scale planning
  • Review and analyze multi-faceted business challenges requiring in-depth analysis and hypothesis generation
  • Make decisions in complex situations influencing and leading team members, drive initiatives, and resolve abstract business issues
  • Collaborate with peers and senior managers, driving recommendations based on analytical insights to achieve goals
  • Execute analytical experiments, create statistical models to solve business problems
  • Interpret data, provide recommendations, and influence business decisions using advanced analytics modeling methods
  • Provide consultation on data science best practices to peers
  • Communicate insights to non-technical audiences
  • Conduct data exploration for Regulatory monthly submissions and ensure data consistency
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and policies on all projects

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of data science experience
  • Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline
  • Experience in data science, understanding of US Home Lending product lifecycle, proficiency in SQL, exposure to SAS
  • Experience in Regulatory Reporting and detail-oriented documentation skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certifications in Data Management, Data Engineering tools
  • Proficiency in SAS, understanding of business drivers and industry trends, proven ability to deliver solutions in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to ensure analytic rigor for all work products
