We are currently looking for a:

RESEARCHER**India Regional Office (Bangalore)


The researcher of the India Regional Office contributes to strengthen the activities of UITP in India to increase the reach and visibility of the association.


  • He/she contributes in all research activities and projects including administrative, technical and financial management of the projects. He/She would contribute in generation of new projects for the research team in India.
  • He/she would assist in providing services to members in the region in the public transport field.
  • He/she will be supporting the UITP India team in maintaining strong relations with members of the association, while representing UITP in different events and meetings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in research and management for projects with existing funders
  • Provides support to Head of UITP India Office for various activities such as trainings, conferences and seminars,
  • Assists in developing working briefs, training material and research papers for members and other public transport professionals, in collaboration with other experts around the world.
  • Assists in organizing study tours and technical visits for members within India and outside
  • Supports UITP India Office to explore more funding opportunities to execute projects
  • Conducts analysis and research for the association covering issues of interest in the fields of public transport, urban transport and sustainable mobility
  • Assists in production of regular communications for members including electronic newsletters, letters, brochures and use of social media.
  • Assists in identification and business development regarding memberships in India
  • Assists in coordination with funding agencies to explore opportunities for research activities that would bring value to members.
  • Assists in maintaining strong relationship with the hosts of UITP India Office BMTC and DMRC and any other key members in India.

PROFILE
Education

At least a bachelor Degree, ideally a Master

  • MS/ MSc/ M. Tech/ M. Plan / MBA in Transportation Engineering/ Transportation Planning / Urban Planning / Urban Policy / Public Policy
Experience

3-5 years

Demonstrated experience in research in Urban Transport/ Public Transport domain. Passionate about public transport and its advocacy.

Experience in Electric Mobility is a plus

  • Languages_
Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking Hindi and English.

A good command over any local language is preferred.

Hiring Terms

  • Contract term 2 years
  • Contract renewable on completion of 2 years.
  • Travelling required up to 50%
