You will be working as R&D Software Engineer at global grade 14 and will be part of Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries division based in Bangalore, India.

In this role you will be reporting to R&D Team Manager and will be responsible for contributing to ABB's success with technology, software, product, and system development.

Identifying and implementing innovative solutions to relevant problems.

Providing ideas and is able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.

Your responsibilities

  • Identifying and translating market and product requirements to SW requirements
  • Analyzing and gathering customer requirements and proposing appropriate solutions
  • Working with project managers to define scope, features and estimating for new projects
  • Working with customers to define new opportunities, proficient at installing, configuring, developing a workflow process, troubleshooting the software and staying current with upgrades, updates and patches
  • Building CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps. Familiarity with windows installation tools like InstallShield/WiX will be an added advantage
  • Working with development teams and product managers to ideate features. Building the frontend of applications through appealing visual design
  • Developing and managing wellfunctioning databases and applications along with unit testing software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
  • Writing technical documentation. Working with data scientists and analysts to improve software
Your background

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in B.E or B.Tech or MCA
  • Minimum 4 to 8 years of proven experience as a full stack developer. Working in software development for industrial automation & knowledge of any DCS/PLC/SCADA applications will be an added advantage
  • Experience in developing web applications. Familiarity with common stacks, Knowledge of multiple frontend languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
  • Knowledge of C#, .NET Core, entity framework, Vue3. Strong knowledge of SQL, IIS and UI/UX design
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure/DevOps and basics of ISA 88 standards along with awareness to cyber security
  • Knowledge of Advanced Installer. Familiarity of Static code analysis tools
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills and an analytical mind
