Firmware Engineer

Location: Bangalore (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

Collaborate across multiple disciplines and departments to come up with innovating new ideas and new technologies. Firmware specification development, design, coding, testing, and debugging. Firmware roadmap for all current and future projects. Design firmware architectures for successful embedded systems projects with regards to system functionality, customer satisfaction, schedule, time, and budget. Provide day to day direction and oversight to other firmware engineers. Create and manage firmware requirements, development schedules, identify risks and develop mitigation plans. Develop firmware for RTOS applications. Troubleshoot bugs using a real-time debugger/ICE and firmware logs. Define embedded systems processes, standards, and best practices. Document functional specifications to support embedded systems projects. Remain up to date on all industry trends and new research in order help train and develop team members. Track projects and report progress and issues to the engineering manager. Ensure we meet and exceed our customers' expectations through superior design and implementation. Work with management to prioritize projects on a macro level; prioritize individual tasks on your own, and to develop process standards within the department.

Requirements

Bachelor / Master's degree in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Science Engineering. 4+ years of experience with at least 3+ years in implementing and leading embedded firmware solutions. Strong hands-on experience in C, C++, Python, and other common development languages. Demonstrated experience on Microcontroller Firmware, Embedded Systems, and Real-Time Operating System (RTOS). Significant experience with communication standards and protocols (UART, I2C, CAN, SPI, USB). Extensive experience using hardware troubleshooting tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer). Driving the team to learn and research new projects and technologies. Aptitude for hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting. Excellent software engineering fundamentals and a good understanding of architecture, design, and performance. Exposure to Autonomous Vehicles, Robotics, Automation, etc. a plus.
