About theRole:
Inthis exciting role you will be responsible for leading ourR&D team in developing innovative and marketdriven foodingredient solutions. You will play a key role in the entireproduct development lifecycle from ideation and concept developmentto formulation prototyping andcommercialization.
KeyResponsibilities Tooversee research activities and develop knowledgebased products forBayfield food ingredients. Develop research programs incorporatingcurrent developments to improve existing products and study thepotential of new productopportunities.
Project& portfolio management(50%)
  • Lead and organizeproduct development activities (design development refinement andimplementation of products) within Bayfield food ingredientsaccording to the relevant guidelines and best practices of eachtargeted product.
  • Set project directionplanning goals and milestones and ensure project deliverables meetstrategic corporateobjectives.
  • Define the formulationraw materials (grades and specifications) Finished productspecifications and testing methods as well as any additional orspecific studies needed.
  • Input in and prepareany R&Drelated documentation (PDS the Application datasheet and MSDS etc) required for product submission or required byany relevant party.
  • Document all phasesof research and development and maintain the developmentdocumentation (hard copies and soft copies) within the R&Ddepartment.
  • Design and lead pilottrials support industrial trials create analytical reports organizetasting sessions with R&D Marketing and draw conclusionsand recommendations for the next steps
  • ManageR&D projects budgets from bench to productionscale
  • Prepare SOP and work closely with theproduction team to ensure the success of productdevelopment
  • Any other duties as assigned byManagement

  • Conductingmarket research to identify new businessopportunities
  • Participate as an R&Drepresentative for product launch/startup by preparing allspecifications and certifications related to the product line(except packaging) and ensuring that all documentation needed isavailable prior to startup.
  • Work closely withOperations Purchasing and Brand Marketing in the communication oftechnical information related to new product testprograms.

  • Developinggoals/ KRA s for the development team and business growth andensuring they are met
  • Oversee the hiring andtraining of personnel
  • Allocate work tasks tocompany staff according to their specialization andhistory.
  • Leads and motivates directreports to achieve personal development.
