MAIN PURPOSE


The R&D Facility Manager will actively participate as a member of a dynamic research team focused on the design, delivery and control of core processes and associated equipment throughout the development and industrialisation of current and future generations of battery materials.

Under the guidance of the Global Head of R&D, with support from the R&D Leadership Team and working alongside other laboratory personnel, they will be responsible for ensuring equipment, services and utilities availability that will enable ongoing scientific research projects in the Agratas laboratories in Bengaluru.

This is a senior-level position, and responsibilities will focus on the management of laboratory resources, oversight of laboratory quality standards and procedures, and planning for future projects as well as resolution of execution issued on a day-to-day basis whilst minimising process disturbance.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordination of the preparation of the commissioning plans
  • Steer layouts and concept designs that enable the buildings team to approve construction
  • Identify vendor suitability for process equipment and associated services/utilities needs through a detailed NDA/RFQ structure (in conjunction with the Procurement Team)
  • Responsible for the overall Commissioning team and to oversee the recruitment, mobilisation, training and supervision of personnel
  • Responsible for the safe and timely execution of all Commissioning activities and integration of these activities with both Project and Operations to include equipment availability (PMs/TPM), spares and maintenance strategies
  • Responsible for managing interfaces with Construction and Commissioning Managers and their respective teams
  • Coordination with Engineering to ensure that Commissioning and deliverables are met
  • Responsible to ensure that all documentation relevant to the Commissioning phase is received by the Project. This includes, but is not limited to O&M manuals, Training materials, Engineering databases for O&M systems upload, spares lists and spares
  • Responsible for the coordination of vendor representatives required during the Commissioning
  • Responsible for the development and communication of the requirements and timing for materials, resources and external services for Commissioning
  • Responsible for the development and execution and process controls of the laboratory cleaning plan
  • Leads daily and weekly progress review meetings
  • Liaises with Statutory Authorities on matters associated with plant startup
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Experience)

  • Must have a Ph.
D. in Chemical/ Chemistry or any relevant field.

  • Must have experience in delivering dry rooms and clean laboratory environments and associated fitouts. Essential
  • Compliance and regulations knowledge and experience with COSHH/DSEAR/ATEX installations and associated HS&E procedures. Essential
  • Must exhibit a strong track record of completion and success in the delivery of commissioning and projects. Essential
  • Must understand ISO, UKAS, audit procedures and methods. Essential
  • Strong leadership and communication skills. Essential
  • Clear thinker, able to divide a job into small logical steps. Essential
  • Extensive experience in the use of procedures and workflows in the execution of projects. Essential
  • Experience in the use of Completions Management Systems (databases). Essential
  • Functional knowledge of all project discipline systems, design and reporting processes. Desirable
