Position: Platform Head - Technology, Digital Business, Digital Business

Purpose: The incumbent is responsible for building, managing, and supporting the platform org within SonyLiv OTT which include all the core engineering platform services. This including (but not limited to) Big Data platform, data pipelines, monitoring & Alerting platform, User data platforms, reporting solutions. This also include Streaming tech stack like Video Transcoding, Transcoding pipelines, Ingestion pipelines, Media tailor workflow etc. The person will also manage and support all the DevOps, IaaS, Security, and compliance for SonyLiv ensuring it is done easily, responsibly and scalable.

Education: ./, MCA or Equivalent Computer Degree

Experience : 15+ years of eexperience in building and managing the streaming domain pipelines like Video transcoding, Media tailor, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

Management and Oversight of Core SonyLiv platform Infrastructure Oversee the definition and maintenance of infrastructure architectures at various levels Develop detailed designs and specifications, procure and implement solutions to provide secure and efficient core services for all users. Define and implement strategy to move toward Infra as a Service. Build, manage and operate all the video transcoding services under SonyLiv. Build, manage and operate all the ingestion flow services under SonyLiv Implement the best engineering practices to build and operate scalable, reliable and highly available platform in OTT domain. Build, manage and operate the big data platform for billions of events. Build, manage and operate the reporting solution for all analytics services for video streaming. Build, manage and operate the analytical platform for application and other services in SonyLiv

Critical Competencies:

Behavioural Excellent organisational, technical, interpersonal and communication skills. Strong analytical skills with ability to think strategically and critically. Ability to work with all levels within the organisation, including field service team members' management, cross-departmental teams and senior leadership. Should be a good team player & able to work independently under pressure. Experience handling the remote and inhouse teams is must. Strategic thinker balanced with a grasp of details. Must possess the ability to switch between execution and strategy mode most effortlessly. Ability to see the big picture, visualize the future and develop relevant functional strategies which value add to our business. Ability to prioritize and cope with competing demands. Must possess a sense of urgency and excellent execution and project management skills. Must be excited by and be able to navigate ambiguity. Passion for results and excellence. Must be able to get the job done by working collaboratively with others. Inquisitive and analytical mind; out-of-the-box thinking; bring a creative perspective to business problems applying functional expertise, business understanding and common sense. Technical Minimum 3+ years of Experience in leading the multiple core engineering and platform team. Minimum 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, IaaS, security & Compliance operations. Minimum 5+ years of experience Backend services preferable microservices in OTT domain. Experience in Defining platform team vision, define their strategy, KPI and tracking it and delivering high quality platform service to internal products. Experience in Hiring, training, mentoring, next generation leaders in platform team to leads the core platform services.
