Detailed description:

Display Product Architect

Mechanical Engineer with experience in the design of products that use large displays (TFT/OLEDS), 2 wheeled (cluster/display) or electronic modules.
The candidate will be responsible for reviewing the customer's specification and develop a mechanical architecture that meets competitive cost targets. This involves understanding the design performance vs. cost of the different aspects of the design to maximize the customer's value. These architectures will support new business pursuits in multiple regions. They will also work on identifying opportunities in our portfolio and produce standardized designs to use in future efforts.
The candidate must be able to work on globally distributed teams and be fluent in English. The candidate must be ability to use Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
The candidate should be experienced in one or more of the following areas:

• Design of display products

• Design of Class-A surface

• Design of decorative parts (painting, chromed, laser etch, pad printing)

• Design of Thermal management

• Design of sealed systems

• Design of electro-mechanical systems

• Packaging of automotive electronics

• Design for assembly for high volume production

• Design of sheet metal, plastics, and cast enclosures

• Performing mechanical tolerance studies

• Basic understanding of structural and thermal simulations

• Basic understanding of optical system

• Basic understanding of display systems

• Basic understanding of electronics

• CAD experience (Catia is desirable)

• Basic quality tools (DFMEA, 8D, DRBFM, etc...)

• BS Mechanical Engineer (Master's preferred)
