Reporting to the Head of Film and Sound, the position will be working in the wider creative design and
production team which consists of creatives spanning across the world in several time-zones. This
role will be supporting Client Solutions which is an integrated content marketing agency within The
Economist Group.

The purpose of the role is both to support the business with the management film and sound
productions. You will be one of the main points of contact in production for the business and will need
to build strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders in order to succeed in the role.

You will be responsible for all of the production jobs going through the pipeline. This role is essential
in helping the business unit deliver the best quality audio visual content, so a big focus of the role will
be ensuring that creative integrity is kept at a high level.

This is a diverse role that gives real responsibility and autonomy whilst also offering support to the
business. It is an ideal position for someone looking for a highly dynamic and busy environment, with
a broad remit supporting the business from a production perspective.

Accountabilities:

How you will contribute:

  • Work with other members of The Economist
  • Amplify to develop proposals that are
centred around Film & Sound

  • Responsible for managing projects and productions to ensure they are on brief, to
the highest standard and within budget from pre-production through to delivery

  • Liaise with clients, account handlers and team at The Economist
  • Amplify on
proposals from earliest stage of project development (through associated team /
sector / client)

  • Develop relationships with clients onsite during production events/shoots/edits etc
to upsell and promote other Amplify products and services

  • Increase a roster of global contacts whilst developing relationships with
suppliers and implementing savings (constantly updating our database)

  • Help challenge the current output at The Economist by keeping at the forefront of
suitable pre & post-production technology, research trends; developing creative
approaches to standard content and work to overall develop Amplify's Film & Sound
department

Experience, skills and professional attributes:

The ideal skills for the role:

  • Production Manage shoots (pre-production, crew coordination, recess, call sheet
creation, manage event logistics etc)

  • Produce/direct on shoots that require (and can accommodate) inhouse resource. This may
also include shoots all over the world

  • Write creative scripts/treatments for a vast array of productions (large and small)
  • Ensure deadlines and expectations are managed appropriately
  • Work output is of the highest quality at all times
  • Work alongside Head of Branded Film & Sound on projects and preparation from
concept through to delivery

  • Work with freelance producers, cameramen, crews and editors to create a seamless
result for the client

  • Manage budgets and personnel on largescale productions
  • Ensure regular updates are sent to wider company communicating successes and
concerns e.g. busy periods/ problems with briefs etc

  • Production Management (especially knowledge of suppliers in various countries,
writing call sheets, organising recces, knowledge of freelancers etc)

  • Producer Skills & Experience (camera angles, formats, framing, working onsite etc)
  • Technical Format Knowledge (QuickTimes, Mpegs, Mpeg2s, AVIs, WMVs, SWFs, Flash and MOVs etc)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet
