Job Description

  • B.Tech - Mechanical Engineering (preferred), or Diploma in Mechanical Design/Drafting Technology with relevant experience, or substantial experience in drafting and design including 3D modeling.
  • Four plus years' experience in a CAD mechanical design and drafting environment necessary.
  • Minimum three years' experience working in Teamcenter environment needed.
  • Minimum three years' experience with a 3D mechanical CAD solid modeling software package or NX software needed.
  • Knowledge of standard drafting techniques per ASME Y 14 essential.
  • Ability to create and interpret mechanical, electrical and hydraulic schematics crucial.
  • Knowledge of SPS engineering drawings, system layouts, products, manufacturing, and welding processes or equivalent beneficial.
  • Operational knowledge of two or more SPS products or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to assist engineers by offering new or alternate design solutions and contributing to product development decisions.
  • Learns TechnipFMC's design practices, systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Produces advanced CAD detail and assembly drawings from various sources under the guidance of senior level Drafters, Designers, Engineers, or Manager.
  • Creates final drawings with complete dimensional data for engineering or manufacturing purposes and reviews for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to drafting, applicable design, component weights, and system standards.
  • Prepares complex, final CAD detail, assembly, and layout drawings.
  • Exhibits effective team communication and collaboration skills.
  • Reviews mid-level detail drawings and assemblies.
  • Determines dimensional tolerance requirements to ensure proper assembly fit and function according to design requirements set by engineers.
  • Prepares CAD assembly drawings to verify adequate assembly fit and function.
  • Creates complete product layouts, working from detail drawings, sub-assemblies, final assemblies, and BOM's.
  • Submits time estimates for review before starting assigned work.
  • Conducts final drafting review to guarantee drawings contain complete dimensional data for engineering and manufacturing purposes.

- Mechanical aptitude necessary
- Proficiency in mechanical design and engineering principles; drafting and visualization skills required. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, adept use of enabling technology; computer and time management skills.
