Function Overview

GIC Sales Strategy & Intelligence team partners with our global General Mills sales teams in providing them with analytical horsepower and enable business continuity so they can focus on core activities – Selling, driving distribution gains and optimizing merchandising plans to deliver sales volume targets.

We enable customer, pricing & promotion strategies across the global markets through our focused capabilities of Sales Execution, Trade & Strategic Revenue Management and Category Management.

Teams within function are aligned to the above focused capabilities for each of our markets and each team member specializes in domains of Advanced Analytics, Visual Insights & Planogramming.

We are a family of Data analysts, Business analysts and Business Consultants with diverse opinions, cultures and passions and are united by our desire to serve the world by making food people love.

Purpose of the role

The role will be responsible to partner with the Sales, Trade Marketing & Trade Finance Teams in US.

The team member will independently build a seamless rapport with the point of contact overseas, address and initiate business requests, establish solutions through sophisticated reporting/tool building and superior presentations/visuals.

The work will be sent with actionable analysis that showcases depth & breadth of business acumen.

Leverage syndicated data and various SRM reports to provide actionable insights & actions to drive ROI & profit for trade spending across categories & brands.

The role includes trade fulfillment, enabling assortment and trade optimization strategies, competitive intelligence, recommending merchandising & pricing scenarios via various data modelling & analytical techniques either independently or through collaboration of cross-team peers.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Business Analysis & Analytics
Conduct analysis, and provide insights, leveraging existing and new tools, surface insights, draw conclusions, make recommendations, and influence business partners to consensus and action
Gather and analyze syndicated data (e.g., from Nielsen, IRI, consumers, and/or customers) in order to identify opportunities to drive RNS & Profitability growth across OUs & Categories
Master and own the monthly deliverables in the form of reports & presentations and send quality output in a timely manner with upgrades
Design superlative templates, Develop and execute dashboards/ tools in a turn-key scalable format
Work alongside of peers and inculcate best practices and elevate the team's ability to tackle business questions with value adds
Demonstrate an analytical bend of mind in all tasks/projects/collaborations
Distill actionable insights from the data to offer client ready business recommendations by identifying meaningful customer indicators & trends
Actively builds & proliferates trade & pricing knowledge & principles
Confidently present category and trade dynamics to stakeholders and rationalize techniques and model fit
Showcase thought leadership; look for ways to integrate better business solutions
Anticipate customer needs based on business trends and previous projects
Continuous Improvement mindset to deliver Executional Excellence, and Project Management
Ensure TAT is upheld via awareness on process requirements, meeting benchmark time estimates and through articulate expectation settings with the stakeholder
Guarantee data quality and accuracy through thorough comprehension of request, accurate application of tools/platforms with an eye for detail and a robust data & logic check

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education – Full time graduation from an accredited university
Analytics & Visualization experience in CPG (or related) industry- 3 to 4 years
Experience with syndicated market data (Nielsen, IRI)
Advanced expertise in MS Excel (excludes VBA), Tableau / power BI proficiency- good to have
Strong command over oral and written English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Post Graduate in Business Management, Statistics, Marketing, Retail
Analytics & Visualization experience in CPG (or related) industry- 4 to 6 years
Experience in Modern Trade, Revenue Management verticals of CPG
Experience working with consultancies managing CPG/ retail clients
