Manager, Digital Product Management (Product Owner), Acquirer Payments

As a key link in the product development process no two days here will be the same, but there are some things you can count on doing:

Work with customers, key stakeholders, and partners to define a product vision and roadmap Understand and apply new trends and competitive best practices into product roadmap and requirements Support development of appropriate tracking and reporting to determine product performance Work closely with the design and technology teams to develop, test and deliver defined capabilities Translate product roadmap into well-defined product requirements/user stories and acceptance test criteria

Description/Overview of the Department:

The Network & Acquiring Solutions (NAS) teams bring together American Express' Merchant-and Network-related Businesses to enable a sharp focus on using the power of our network to provide unique value to all our mutual Customers. The organization manages the relationships with millions of Customers around the world that accept American Express and runs the companys payment network and manages bank partnerships globally.

It begins with a Card Member using an American Express Card at one of our millions of proprietary Merchants around the world, then processing that transaction, and getting the merchant paid, is up to us. The Acquirer Capability Delivery (ACD) Products team is at the heart of the proprietary transaction process. We power billions of transactions leading to merchants being paid and continuing to welcome American Express cardmembers and their cards.

We are looking for a talented Product Owner to join the Acquirer Capability Delivery (ACD) team in delivering efficient, effective, predictable, and compliant Acquirer capabilities for our global merchants. The success of the role will depend on your ability to maintain, improve, and expand capabilities provided to our Merchants and Partners around the world. The Product Owner should be strategic and a detail-oriented self-starter who is comfortable working in a dynamic and fast paced role within the organization.

You will work among high performing product, process, and engineering teams. You will have a passion for both technology and business solutions and an eye on industry trends. Working with our partners, you will develop and prioritize features that optimize shareholder value while solving customer problems. This Product Owner will:

·Actively participate to design the capability roadmap to enable business processes that support the transaction processing products

·Identify product solutions for short term tactical needs and long-term strategy

·Deliver tools & capabilities based on customer needs, competitive analysis and market and technology trends

·Lead feature and user story definition sessions, ensuring the scrum team has everything they need to deliver

·Establish acceptance criteria, test strategy, and write user acceptance test cases.

·Lead scope prioritization sessions and backlog refinements

·Prioritizes the scrum teams backlog in collaboration with the Product Manager and other impacted teams

·Maintain open communication channels with ACD Leadership, stakeholders, business partners, and technology partners

·Support governance processes for Acquirer Capability Delivery

·Develops deep understanding of the problems our stakeholders are trying to solve and the challenges they face

·Become a subject matter expert of the products in scope

Qualifications:

·Experienced SAFe practitioner

·3+ year experience working with a scrum team

·Knowledge of merchant transaction processing capabilities

·Financial reporting and accounting knowledge a plus

·Ability to gate-keep and manage scope

·"Growth Mindset" with a passion for innovative thinking

·Understanding of Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) business drivers, merchant needs, and market trends

·Ability to think globally and drive standardization in processes and capabilities (May be required to "act locally" where governed by compliance, legal, or market-specific requirements)

·Proven track record of communication, influence, and leadership without authority

·Demonstration of skill in gathering and facilitating definition and clarity on needs translated into high quality features and user stories.

·Ability to drive innovation, communicate effectively, and influence without authority are necessary leadership attributes of the successful candidate
