Responsibilities:

  • Design, architect, and implement Linux-based systems, configurations, and solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for Linux servers, applications, and services.
  • Monitor system performance, security, and reliability; implement proactive measures to ensure optimal operation.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, procedures, and best practices for Linux system administration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Linux systems with other IT infrastructure components.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends; make recommendations for technology adoption and improvements.
  • Participate in project planning, execution, and delivery; ensure successful implementation of Linux-related initiatives.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members; facilitate knowledge sharing and skills development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience years of experience in Linux system administration and engineering roles, with a strong focus on design, implementation, and support.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux), including installation, configuration, and optimization.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM), containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using shell scripting languages (e.g., Bash) and/or programming languages (e.g., Python, Perl).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and services; experience with network configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Linux Professional Institute, Red Hat Certified Engineer) are a plus.
