We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of a Project ManagerIn this role, you will:Lead end-to-end project management activities, including project planning, scope definition, resource allocation, budgeting, risk management, and timeline monitoring tailored for DevOps environments.
Champion the adoption and refinement of Agile methodologies (, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean) across the DevOps team to enhance project agility and team responsiveness.
Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.Serve as the primary point of contact for DevOps project communications.
Inform and negotiate with stakeholders including business users, operations, technology teams, and subject matter experts, to define objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining tasks, dependencies, and deliverables integrating DevOps principles as continuous integration and continuous deployment. Manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and escalating as necessary to ensure timely resolution.Foster collaboration and stakeholder engagement by building strong relationships and facilitating effective communication within a large complex matrix organization spread in multiple locations and time zones.
Provide strong leadership in DevOps practices, advocating automation, monitoring and iterative improvement across project life cycle.Allocate resources appropriately to maximize project efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure resource availability and allocation, manage project resource assignments, and report on resource utilization.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to digitization and client experience.
Responsible for overseeing critical operational aspects of a platform covering,Service Continuity:
Establish business recovery and contingency requirements understanding the Business Maximum Disruption Time (MDT) and ensure this is reflected in the service Recovery Time Objective (RTO).
Ensure Service Continuity plans are maintained and routinely tested.Capacity Management:
Manage the day-to-day capacity and performance of the service. Conduct regular reviews of the metrics captured and identify potential areas of constraint.
Identify Business Growth and New Initiatives, and Obtain Volume GrowthCyber Security:
Engage with Cyber Security on vulnerability/ new infrastructure changes are made to a service
Access Control:
Ensure appropriate business system access controls are in place
Change Management:
ITSOs are required to review and approve (or deny) production change requests relating to their IT Services
Service Level Management:
Ensure Operation Level Agreements (OLAs) are Reviewed
Configuration Management:
Ensure all new infrastructure components (hosts, databases, middleware) are modelled to an IT service
Privileged Access:
Ensure Access Requests are reviewed periodically
Monitoring & Alerting:
Monitoring and alerting shall be in place, ensuring appropriate, approved tools and capabilities are implemented and maintained for the service, which must integrate with the approved Event Management lifecycle technologies using standard protocols
Evergreening:
Create and execute plans to maintain the service on supported infrastructure
Incident Management:
Ensure any service disruptions are escalated to the Major Incident Management team
Problem Management:
Ensure problem resolution within agreed timeline.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:10+ years of proven experience as a project manager within the financial services industry, specializing in the DevOps domain, leading Agile teams, and overseeing software releases.
Skilled in serving as a scrum master, or in a similar role, with a strong grasp of Agile practices and methodologies.
Comprehensive knowledge of software development lifecycles, project management principles, agile methodologies, and continuous integration /continuous development (CI/CD) frameworks, enhancing workflow automation and efficiencyUnderstanding of cloud computing technologies (, AWS, GCP)Experience with SRE practices, including monitoring systems, incident management, and reliability engineering.
Demonstrated experience managing critical operational aspects of a platform to ensure consistent, secure and efficient service delivery.Experience in managing projects related to operational processes, workflow and automation.
Exceptional team player known for fostering collaboration and driving projects to successful completion with a focus on quality and timeline.
Highly flexible, set priorities and meet deadlines in a changing environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to negotiate, resolve conflicts and influence technical choices relating to business, development, and architectural requirements.
Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (Clarity, Confluence, JIRA & GPDM), with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time, within budget, and with high-quality outcomes.
Drive the digitisation of processes and systems, leveraging emerging technologies and best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and client experiences.
