Location: Remote

Job Type: 4-month project (potential extension)

About the Company: CCI Group is dedicated to providing top-tier translation and localization services for diverse industries, with a particular focus on international development projects. We are currently supporting a US federal agency, which involves translating critical documents and resources to advance global partnerships and local development.

Position Summary: The Translation Project Manager will oversee the translation, proofreading, and post-editing processes for various high-profile documents related to agency activities. This role requires exceptional project management skills, a keen eye for detail, and expertise in managing translation projects involving multiple languages and complex content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
    • Oversee the end-to-end translation process for documents, including solicitations, pre-award documents, and website content.
    • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of translation services.
    • Track and report on project progress, addressing any issues or delays promptly to meet deadlines.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of translation accuracy and consistency.
    • Coordinate the screening, testing, and approval of translators and proofreaders based on their expertise in translation and international development.
    • Manage a shared termbase of specialized terminology to ensure consistency across all translated materials.
  • Team Coordination:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for translators, proofreaders, and other project stakeholders.
    • Facilitate direct collaboration between translators/proofreaders and the Partnerships Incubator team.
    • Organize and lead regular meetings with the translation team to discuss project updates, challenges, and solutions.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Ensure translators and proofreaders are proficient with the selected translation platform (e.g., Crowdin).
    • Manage translations across various file formats, including PDF, Word, Google Docs, PPT, Google Slides, INDD, and JSON.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Liaise with federal government agencies and other client representatives to understand project requirements and provide regular updates.
    • Address and resolve any client concerns related to translation quality or project timelines.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, International Development, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in translation project management, preferably in the field of international development.
  • Proven experience managing multi-language translation projects and coordinating with remote teams.
  • Strong knowledge of translation tools and platforms (e.g., Crowdin, SDL Trados).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus (e.g., Spanish, French, Arabic).

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of international development-specific terminology and document types is a plus.
  • Ability to implement and maintain stringent quality control measures.
  • Flexibility to accommodate different time zones and urgent project needs.
Requirements
Fluency in listed language and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages. Proven experience as an interpreter, preferably in a social service, legal, or healthcare setting. Understanding the unique needs and challenges faced by at-risk youth and cultural competency in working with diverse populations. Ability to maintain professionalism, composure, and empathy in emotionally charged situations. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and protocols governing the care and protection of at-risk youth is a plus but not a requirement.
