Job Description

CPP Investments is looking at proven technology and people leader, to lead teams in an agile delivery environment for a quality outcome. The leader should have hands on technology experience, in addition to excellent execution capability, experience in building and developing teams, global mindset, collaborative and demonstrated experience in remote working setup across time-zones. Thought leadership in technical and functional aspects like public markets, alternate assets or risk. Accountable for ensuring end-to-end complex project or program delivery as well as providing technical leadership to others.

Role-specific Accountabilities:

Interpersonal effectiveness to drive impact within area of responsibility, including: - Compelling communications with senior leadership - Builds relationships with leaders internally Owns performance management, development and engagement of one or more junior direct reports Demonstrates Guiding Principles of integrity, partnership and performance, and also promotes them in own team Acts inclusively with all colleagues, and also sets inclusive environment within the team Collaborates within and across groups to facilitate effective execution and partnerships, also promotes culture of collaboration within own team Critical thinking to deliver workstream/process/ program/project insight and recommendations Self driven with the ability to lead and solve complex problems Integrates organizational understanding into work by considering impact beyond own team Drives workstream/ process/program excellence with practicality and effectiveness Demonstrates resilience in the face of change and can effectively manage competing demands Effective delegation and supervision of specific output Build software solutions enabling end-to-end investment lifecycle support including pre-trade activities, trade submission and execution, reporting and post-trade activities. Work in partnership with CPP Investments' professionals Drive design, integration and implementation, working as technology lead within an internal engineering team. Contribute to the development of long-term system target state, plan and drive system advancements towards strategic target Contribute to engineering excellence by proactively identifying and prioritizing opportunities to improve process agility, delivery efficiency, and implement DevOps & agile development principles. Support innovation and promote Agile best practices through active team participation, knowledge sharing sessions, and maintenance of documentation on team wiki.

Qualifications

Overall, 19 plus years of experience over 7 years of relevant experience. University degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred. Proven leadership skills to build and lead teams. Interest in Investment Management and eagerness to contribute to the systems that support them, especially knowledge of Total Fund Management / Capital Markets / Alternate investment instruments like real estate and infrastructure investments, private equity. Demonstrated execution capability in technical areas like Python or Java, Angular, SQL, Cloud native applications. Experience with technologies: C++, FIX protocol will be a plus Demonstrated track record of Critical Thinking/Judgement, Drive/Initiative, Leadership, Teamwork. Excellent communication and relationship management skills Experience in architecting and developing cloud-native solutions on AWS (or other cloud provider) preferred. Proven attention to accuracy and detail, highly organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task Exceptional (written and verbal) communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a high performing culture, under pressure and with time-sensitive deadlines. Personable, easily interacts with all types of personalities and at all levels with a high degree of professionalism. Proven ability to work independently as well as to perform effectively in a team-oriented and open-concept environment.
