Job Description:

Role Purpose

To provide professional and consistent support for portfolio management and secondly the wider SS&C BP organisation

To be responsible for a number of key activities including project start-up, management information gathering and distribution

To provide review and assurance across the portfolio

To contribute to the management of the portfolio management office

To contribute toward the portfolio's resource management reviews and reporting

Responsibility

  • Accountable for maintaining best practices and guides for the portfolio team
  • Controller of standard BP project and presales templates and communications
  • To collate, govern and distribute project highlight reports for all active projects
  • Contribute to the governance review against project stage gate acceptance
  • Accountable for the management and control of portfolio changes
  • Contribute towards the creation and review portfolio MI in order to track all projects within the portfolio
  • Management of small projects or work packages
  • Undertaking project startup review and procedures to ensure a consistent approach
  • Management of portfolio lessons learned logs
  • Provide project assurance to all project managers across the portfolio
  • Management and contribution to support the BP Knowledge Support Process
  • Management and coordination of effort against BP presales activities
  • Review and maintaining portfolio resource management plans
  • Management of portfolio risks and issues
  • Providing guidance to the project team, and building and managing meaningful and supportive relationships across the organisation
  • Contribution to a suitable governance framework in order to deliver the necessary portfolio management improvements, road map and business objectives
  • Contribution to a consistent and effective approach to portfolio management

The individual will be:

  • A proven communicator with stakeholders at all levels
  • An experienced project professional with a background in project assurance, governance and methodology
  • Organised and able to drive to achieve objectives and targets

  • Contribution to portfolio governance reviews

Required Skills:

Qualifications:

  • Qualified to a degree level (desirable)
  • Relevant Project Management and/or PMO certification
Experience

  • Minimum 3 year experience in project governance and portfolio support management role
  • Experience within a PMO
  • Experience of working with Project Online/Project Server (desirable)
  • Experience with PRINCE2/ Agile methodologies
  • Experience of working with Power BI (desirable)
  • Experience of professional service project delivery (desirable)

Skills:

  • Strong documentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong reporting and stakeholder management skills
  • Attention to detail and workload prioritisation
  • Effective presentation of management and control
