As part of our expansion plans, we are looking for a capable and motivated individual to lead the establishment of a new line of chemical trading within our organization.

Position Overview:

As the Chemical Sales Representative, you will be in charge of spearheading the development and implementation of Jaysons Chemical Industries' new trading arm, focusing on the procurement, sale, and distribution of various chemical products. This role calls for a strategic mind well-versed in the chemicals market, possessing strong leadership qualities and a track record or potential for driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to pinpoint opportunities for chemical trading, including demand patterns, competitor evaluations, and potential collaborations.
  • Strategic Planning: Draft a strategic roadmap for the chemicals trading section, defining key goals, target markets, pricing approaches, and sales projections.
  • Supplier and Client Relations: Establish and nurture robust partnerships with chemical suppliers and producers, negotiating favorable terms and securing dependable sources of procurement. Foster connections with potential customers to boost sales and extend market presence.
  • Risk Management: Evaluate and mitigate risks linked to chemical trading operations, encompassing supply chain interruptions, price variations, and regulatory adherence.
  • Team Leadership: Enlist, coach, and supervise an efficient team of traders, analysts, and support personnel gradually. Provide direction and mentorship to ensure team members are primed to achieve their objectives and contribute to the division's success.
  • Financial Management: Formulate and oversee the budget for the chemicals trading sector, monitoring expenditures, income, and profitability metrics. Enact cost-cutting measures and revenue-boosting strategies to enhance financial performance.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Guarantee compliance with pertinent laws, statutes, and industry benchmarks overseeing chemical trading undertakings, encompassing safety, environmental, and import/export regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Chemistry, or a related discipline; MBA or advanced qualifications are advantageous.
  • 1-7 years of experience in chemical trading or an allied industry, with a track record of success in business expansion and leadership roles.
  • In-depth comprehension of the chemicals market, involving prominent entities, products, pricing tendencies, and regulatory mandates.
  • Robust analytical and strategic planning abilities, capable of identifying market openings and devising effective business tactics.
  • Superb negotiation and communication aptitudes, proficient in establishing and nurturing relationships with suppliers, clients, and internal collaborators.
  • (Optional) Demonstrated leadership skills, managing teams and achieving outcomes in a fast-evolving, dynamic environment.
  • Capability to operate independently, prioritize duties, and adhere to deadlines in a fiercely competitive and demanding sector.
