We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to fill a direct hire opening in North Houston, TX. This role offers the opportunity to design and innovate electric motor controls for overhead cranes and hoists, collaborating with a dynamic team to drive product development and solve complex engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

Design:

  • Create electric motor controls for overhead cranes and hoists, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Application:

  • Apply specifications for Magnetic Motor Starters, Relays, and AC inverters.

Support:

  • Assist in all phases of product development engineering activities.

Calculations:

  • Calculate wire sizes and overload protection for cranes operating at voltages up to 800V DC and 4160V AC.

Problem Resolution:

  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve manufacturing issues.

Drawings:

  • Prepare single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and interconnect drawings.

Component Specification:

  • Size and specify purchase components and BOMs based on standards and vendor information.

Design Improvement:

  • Provide input for design improvements to enhance functions or reduce costs.

Circuit Modification:

  • Modify and improve existing circuit designs as necessary.

Collaboration:

  • Work with mechanical engineering and manufacturing teams on control system design.

Documentation:

  • Develop connection/cable diagrams and general arrangement drawings.

Field Support:

  • Travel to sites for meetings or troubleshooting control systems as required (up to 10% domestic travel).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Highly Preferred).

Experience:

  • 3-7 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, with a focus on Electrical Design and Motor Controls.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical 2016.
  • Experience with PLC Programming.
  • Familiarity with NEC Electrical Code.
  • No visa sponsorship eligibility.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Experience with Zuken E3.
  • PLC & HMI programming with Rockwell, Siemens, or Danfoss PLC/VFD.
