As a Data Engineer, you will:
  • Ensure that the desired data sources are made accessible for data-driven work.
  • Integrate and model data in accordance with guidelines and standards set by the data office and in alignment with architectural principles.
  • Monitor the quality and reliability of supplied data.
  • Contribute ideas to establish a professional group for data engineers within the municipality and propose standardizing working methods and methodologies.
What You Bring to the Table:
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure-based technology stack (Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Fabric).
  • Experience with open-source tooling, various data formats, scripts, and programming languages (such as Python or R).
  • Interest and experience in working with data modeling techniques (knowledge of data vault modeling is an advantage), databases, SQL, and ETL processes.
  • Experience working according to scrum/agile methodologies and ability to monitor the overarching goal and coherence of projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of municipal (business) processes and associated terminology, which is essential to understand the needs and objectives of the organization.
  • Good command of the Dutch language and analytical, critical, and communicative skills.
  • Enjoy coaching and/or guiding people within your field.
You should possess the ability to:
  • Ensure data sources are accessible and usable for data-driven work.
  • Integrate and model data according to standards and guidelines.
  • Monitor data quality and reliability.
  • Contribute to the establishment of a professional group for data engineers and propose standardization of methodologies.
