POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Design Manager specializing in Women's Wear, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and creating top-quality products for our brands in different regions. Your attention to detail, expertise in garment construction and design, and ability to stay updated on consumer preferences will play a crucial role in keeping our clients' collections relevant and stylish. Reporting directly to the Principal Designer, you will be a key player in our team.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate actively in market research to identify current trends, fabrics, and techniques for design inspiration.
  • Understand and define brand and customer profiles to tap into market opportunities with relevant concepts.
  • Generate ideas for product innovation and improvement.
  • Interpret seasonal fashion trends and merchandise assortments to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Conceptualize and develop designs aligned with brand positioning and pricing strategy within set timelines.
  • Collaborate with product development and fit technicians for necessary inputs and innovations.
  • Contribute to concept and range approval discussions.
  • Coordinate with product development for sampling and prototyping.
  • Create mood boards and design packs for upcoming seasons.
  • Ensure product quality through fit sessions and production approval.
  • Support Go-To-Market presentations with accurate information and sample availability.
  • Procure fabrics as per specifications and identify opportunities for process efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in designing garments in the western wear category for renowned global brands.
  • Graduate or post-graduate degree in fashion design or a related field from esteemed institutions like NIFT or NID.
  • Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and expertise in garment construction and design.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop, and preferably experience with 3D design tools like 3D CAD or CLO 3D.
  • In-depth understanding of cross-functional team collaboration and requirements within the fashion industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of production processes, fabric selection, garment manufacturing, and costing.
