Zippy is India's first screen-free smart audio companion for kids. Every Zippy card brings iconic stories, songs, and characters to life — combining physical play with magical audio and AI.

Now, we're building the next chapter: Conversational GenAI — where Zippy becomes a talking companion that understands kids, responds like a character, and grows with the child.

We're looking for a hands-on Head of Engineering to lead Zippy's tech vision and execution — across conversational AI, real-time cloud infra, IoT device integration, content management system and parent-facing insights. You'll architect and ship the systems that power magical, safe, and deeply personalized experiences for families.

What you will lead 

  • Conversational AI platform: LLMs, speech models (TTS/STT), prompt chaining, memory
  • Content tech platform : Personalised stories for kids - age and language adaptive, voice cloning 
  • IoT-cloud infra: Real-time, secure data flows between device, cloud, and mobile
  • Parent experience: Insights, controls, and feedback via Zippy's mobile app
  • GenAI Ops: Tools to fine-tune and manage LLMs with child-safe constraints
  • Tech roadmap: Balance rapid iteration with scalable, privacy-first architecture

You should have 

  • 6+ years of backend or AI experience; ideally with 2+ years in GenAI/NLP
  • Built and scaled backend systems or products (Python, Node.js, Go preferred)
  • Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, LangChain, or RAG frameworks
  • Familiarity with ASR/TTS systems and real-time streaming APIs
  • Bias for hands-on building and fast iteration with small teams
  • Bonus: Experience with Voice AI agent
  • Location: Must be based in Bangalore; comfortable with a hybrid work model (onsite presence required)
