About the Role
Swiggy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager - Lending Partnership to join our growing Financial Services team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, negotiating, and managing strategic lending partnerships that expand Swiggy's financial product offerings for our diverse ecosystem of consumers, delivery partners, and restaurant/store partners. You will play a crucial role in building and scaling innovative lending solutions that drive financial inclusion and convenience.
What You'll Do:
Partnership Strategy & Sourcing:
Identify and evaluate potential lending partners (banks, NBFCs, fintechs) whose capabilities align with Swiggy's financial services strategy and target segments.
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential partners through market research, industry networking, and proactive outreach.
Conduct thorough due diligence on prospective partners, assessing their financial health, technological capabilities, regulatory compliance, and market reputation.
Negotiation & Deal Closure:
Lead end-to-end negotiations of commercial terms, legal agreements, and operational frameworks with lending partners.
Collaborate closely with legal, finance, product, and risk teams to ensure all partnership agreements are mutually beneficial, compliant, and scalable.
Drive the contracting process to successful closure, ensuring timely execution and adherence to internal policies.
Partnership Management & Growth:
Manage the full lifecycle of lending partnerships, from integration and launch to ongoing performance monitoring and optimization.
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for each partnership, regularly reviewing performance and identifying areas for improvement.
Develop and execute strategies to deepen existing partnerships, explore new product opportunities, and drive incremental value.
Act as the primary point of contact for lending partners, fostering strong relationships and ensuring effective communication.
Product & Market Insights:
Work cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to translate partnership opportunities into viable lending products and features.
Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes in the digital lending and fintech space, providing insights to inform strategic decisions.
Identify emerging customer needs and market gaps to propose innovative lending solutions.
Risk & Compliance:
Ensure all lending partnerships and products adhere to relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g., RBI norms) and internal risk frameworks.
Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to mitigate potential risks associated with new and existing partnerships.
What You'll Bring
Experience: 5+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or relationship management within the financial services sector, with a strong focus on lending (digital lending, consumer lending, SME lending).
Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of the Indian lending ecosystem, including various lending products, credit assessment, loan lifecycle, and regulatory landscape.
Partnership Acumen: Proven track record of identifying, negotiating, and successfully managing complex partnerships with financial institutions.
Negotiation Skills: Exceptional negotiation and deal-closing abilities with a strong business acumen.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Collaboration: Strong ability to work cross-functionally with product, legal, risk, engineering, and operations teams.
Analytical Skills: Proficient in data analysis to identify trends, measure performance, and make data-driven decisions.
Education: MBA / Masters degree in Business or Finance
Nice to Haves
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup or fintech environment.
Familiarity with the gig economy or marketplace business models.
Existing network within the Indian banking and fintech industry.
