Design Project Director
The Role
You will oversee the regional Project Management team to ensure their successful delivery of on time, on budget, and on brief projects for our clients. You will have operational accountability for the portfolio of work being delivered by the studio and will have line management responsibility for the Project Managers, to include setting career goals and arranging/facilitating training where required. You will act as a conduit between the studio and the wider business to improve efficiencies in ways of working and to define processes to streamline delivery. You will be involved in scoping and winning new business opportunities and will be fundamental in face-to-face engagements with both internal and external senior stakeholders.
We are looking for someone who can prioritise effectively and work in partnership with the studio’s creative leads as well as the global counterparts in the wider Project Management team. Attention to technical detail and strong organisational skills are a must, along with helping both our clients and our studio set clear actions, expose risk and deliver outstanding work.
As a Design Project Director at TCS Interactive you will be expected to:
- Evaluate the brief/client requirements for new opportunities to determine the most appropriate delivery approach, and assist in delivering strategic pitches, RFP responses and proposals
- Own the creation of accurate SOWs and input into the process of MSA negotiation.
- Oversee your team’s delivery of converted projects to ensure all are on time, on budget and on brief
- Proactively and appropriately guide Project Managers to control project risks and issues
- Meet regularly with clients to manage their expectations, ensure project and account stability, be the client’s trusted delivery partner and foster trust in TCS Interactive’s delivery capabilities
- Demonstrate leadership and an entrepreneurial approach, to ensure best in class delivery is achieved across all projects and through all stages of a project
- Be the champion of your project team’s morale and help to facilitate strong working relationships with a 'can-do' attitude
Key Skills and experience required of the role:
- Demonstrable experience in directing and facilitating delivery teams across project and product management
- Strong background in budget creation, management, and reporting
- Experience in line management and team planning
- Digital product experience, ideally across native applications, web, and hardware
- Experience in leading workshops and client meetings, and handling escalation discussions
- Experience in managing and forecasting the resource requirements for projects
- Ability to communicate technical or complex subjects to non-technical audiences
- Ability to communicate with authority, with good negotiation and influencing skills
- A strong ethos to deliver innovative, creative solutions that have the client’s needs at heart
- A digital ‘native’ with knowledge of existing and emerging digital channels, and a passion for emerging technologies, devices, and digital products with a focus on user-centric design
