Role Summary:

We are seeking a versatile AI & Data Science Specialist to advance intelligent solutions for port operations. This role blends data analysis, machine learning engineering, and AI system development, focusing on extracting insights, building predictive models, and deploying robust AI systems that optimize logistics, security, and decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis:  Analyze large structured and unstructured datasets from port operations, including cargo handling, logistics, and vessel traffic.
  • Predictive Modeling & ML Engineering:  Design, build, and deploy advanced machine learning models (e.g., classification, regression, clustering, recommendation) to optimize operational efficiency, throughput, and risk mitigation. Fine-tune models for scalability and production readiness.
  • AI Solutions Development:  Develop and integrate AI-driven security, surveillance, and risk management systems. Embed AI/ML capabilities into existing software platforms, ensuring robust lifecycle management: documentation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Collaboration & Integration:  Work closely with business, operations, and IT teams to translate real-world needs into data-driven and ML-enabled solutions. Collaborate with vendors and train internal staff to facilitate effective adoption of AI technologies.
  • Visualization & Reporting:  Create dashboards, interactive visual reports, and presentations to communicate business-relevant insights to stakeholders.
  • Quality & Compliance:  Validate, clean, and prepare datasets. Ensure data quality, confidentiality, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Optimization & Automation:  Optimize workflows, code, and ML pipelines using leading frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn). Contribute to model documentation and operational monitoring.
  • Preferred:  Experience in the ports or maritime industry, A/B testing, cloud AI platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), model deployment, and MLOps.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, Statistics, Engineering, or work experience in related field.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, ML engineering, or AI system development.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and modern ML/data science frameworks.
  • Advanced skills in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Relevant certifications (Google/IBM/Azure/SAS Data Science or AI engineer certifications) highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative skills. Excellent communication for technical/non-technical audiences.
