The Demand Supply Planner is responsible for balancing demand forecasting with supply planning to ensure that the right products are available in the right quantities at the right time. Key Responsibilities
  • Demand Planning:
    • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and customer insights.
    • Analyze sales patterns and market fluctuations to adjust forecasts and ensure product availability.
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to understand upcoming product launches, promotions, and changes in customer demand.
  • Supply Planning:
    • Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to ensure sufficient stock levels to meet forecasted demand.
    • Create and manage supply plans to ensure on-time delivery while minimizing excess inventory.
    • Monitor lead times and adjust supply strategies to address supply chain risks and delays.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Work to optimize inventory levels, balancing product availability with cost efficiency.
    • Monitor stock levels and take proactive measures to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
    • Develop and implement strategies for inventory replenishment based on forecasted demand.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with sales, procurement, and operations teams to align supply and demand strategies and resolve any issues that arise.
    • Communicate regularly with suppliers to ensure accurate lead times and product availability.
    • Participate in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings to review forecasts, inventory, and production plans.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
    • Provide regular reports on inventory levels, stockouts, demand fluctuations, and other key metrics.
    • Conduct root cause analysis for supply or demand imbalances and recommend corrective actions.
    • Maintain MIS for all products manufactured inhouse and at external manufacturing sites.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Evaluate current demand-supply processes and systems, recommending changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Stay current with industry best practices and supply chain innovations to drive process improvements.
    • Work with IT and other departments if required to enhance forecasting and planning tools.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field.
    • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Demand Planner, Supply Planner, or similar role, with a strong understanding of demand forecasting, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
    • Proficiency in SAP, Advance Excel.
    • Knowledge of inventory management techniques and demand planning methodologies.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing / demand planning.
    • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM or CSCP).
    Working Conditions
    • Full-time position.
